Re: Tower hand offs
This has nothing to do with calls. Only data speed. If you live in an area with good 4g lte coverage it will not happen very often. And if it does, 3g speeds are not that bad. I don't have that issue very often maybe once every other week. Its the same as going from at&t lte to wcdma without hspa+. When you say "hand off" you only will notice it if your in the middle of surfing the ...
VoLTE
Does anyone know if VoLTE has the same voice quality as Sprint's CDMA Advanced HD Voice standard?
Re: Uh uh.
Why don't you support one of the smaller guys by being their customer? I understand your stance on competition, so why do you use one of the big guys?
Re: It is actually Gainesville Georgia
Its been announced for Gainesville Florida already.like a month ago.
It is actually Gainesville Georgia
They just turned it on last week (LTE) but announced that it will be turned on in a few Weeks.
Re: Uh uh.
You should switch carriers from Verizon to Tmobile or metro PCs. You hate on them every chance you get.
Re: More...
Why do you hate Verizon so much?
Re: Is it really that easy to upgade to LTE+?
New channel cards and new phones that are lte advanced .capable.
Re: Inb4
What are you talking about?
And AT&T merger was any different?
Its not good for US meaning us (T-Mobile). Why didnt T- Mobile try to buy the spectrum? The AT&T-Mobile company would only have made ONE company better. Thats no different than Verizon trying to make itself better prepared for the future. Besides, the AWS spectrum Verizon has been sitting on is mainly on the East Coast. The new spectrum will allow them nationwide AWS covarage. That way they can acctually use it the same ...
Re: How does 800mhz LTE compare to 700mhz LTE?
It does affect speed when there's not enough capacity.
Re: How does 800mhz LTE compare to 700mhz LTE?
You wont notice any speed difference because of a frequency difference that small. The largest difference in speed is determined by how much of the 800/900 MHz Sprint will use for LTE. They need at least 10 MHz channels up and down to compete with VZW/AT&T, and a good backhaul link. Sprints 1900 MHz LTE will not be as quick because they are using 5X5 channels. Too little spectrum to keep up with the big ...
E.U. ?
Why is the E.U. involved with this? I thought both companies were U.S. companies.
Re: i still only have 2g edge!
Northern Georgia. I have a Verizon phone as well and drop calls where ATT, Sprint and T-mobile have good service. All im saying is that the big wireless companies need to take care of the basics first.
i still only have 2g edge!
I wish Verizon and att and sprint would focus on getting great coverage and 3g (Verizon not included) before the invest billions in 4g advanced!
Bull Hockey!
I HATE junk phone calls from mortgage lenders and credit card companies! What a total dumbass wasting time of millions of people answering stupid phone calls. I hate this man.
Re: The Bottom Line
Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and all others should NEVER advertise unlimited data on wireless network if it cant handle it. They only do this because it sounds good to the consumer. Wireless networks cant handle this kind of load that some customers put on it. There should always be a cap. 5GB or so would be fair or maybe less. I dont blame network operators (Most of them) for not being able to support it, just dont say its unlimited ...
How in the !* can this merger creat jobs???
Can someone please tell me how this will create jobs when most of the service territory between the companies overlaps. There will be retail closures, billing and accounting excess, network operation and call center redundancies, not to mention management layoffs. I dont understand. I wonder how much money AT&T and T-Mobile are paying lobbyist/Congressmen to write bull#$@! letters to the president.
Re: Hmmm... good call? Bad call?
I dont know who is training you, but i wouldn't listen to anything else they tell you. That is complete b.s.
Re: More inaccurate reporting by Phonescoop
Can you not figure it out yourself Texas? You're being way too critical. Phonescoop is one of the best sites for mobile news. No B.S. on this site compared to some other ones. You suck.
Re: Dallas Area?
Maybe they need it because so many people in DFW have AT&T. Their network is probably close to full capacity.
Re: Question about the 2.2 android update
It will be automatic over the air download to your phone. you will be notified on you droid when it is avail.
Driod ERIS reception??? Please Help!
Does anyone know how the ERIS reception is compared to other Verizon phones like the Motorola Droid???
Eris Reception????
I am thinking of getting one. Can anyone tell me how the reception is compared to other verizon phones like the Moto Droid???
Re: THE AD CLEARLY STATE 3G COVERAGE NOT VOICE
I think YOU are the stupid American. None of this is referring to voice. CDMA data or EVDO, is a 3G technology that transmits data similar to 1xRTT voice channel. You can drop a data call just like a voice call. Your data call can also be blocked if there is not an open data channel.
Re: "America's most dependable 3G network."
Voice is not 3G on CDMA networks. Voice is over 1XRTT channel(2.5G). 3G on CDMA networks is EVDO channel. Not trying to be smart ass, just clearing up the facts. Verizon is defending their 3G data network just as AT&T is doing.
Re: Read the headine people...
I believe they are referring to data calls not being blocked/dropped. Data transmits over an EVDO channel (3G) similarly to the 1XRTT voice channel (2.5G). You can drop your data connection traveling down the highway just as a voice call.
Re: This is already available since 2007
I am pretty sure smart phones and laptops require higher data prices because the users use more data. Its not just because of HTML. Most smart phones and PC users have corporate e-mail. This requires an almost constant conn. to the e-mail servers. Does this help explain?
Re: big things poppin'
I don't believe Vodafone is Verizon wireless parent co. Verizon communications is their parent co. NOT Voda. Voda owns 45% of Verizon wireless.
Re: No, the feds want to...
what are you talking about???
Re: Carrier Exclusivity is BAD
I think they are dealing with way too many things right now.($4,000,000,000,000.00)
Re: No, the feds want to...
Do you want to pay full retail price for your phone every time you have to buy one?, just like you would a microwave or a water heater? Most people had rather get a free one regardless if its tied to a certain carrier or not(or at least a big discount). I think the government needs to stop trying to take control of everything. This is beginning to get ridiculous.
Re: GSM Version
Thats because you were using 1900MHz on ATT.
Re: GSM Version
Well who else does(GSM)?
Re: GSM Version
It will only have 900/1800MHz GSM. NOT U.S. freq.
Re: verizon i phone killer!!!
You are an idiot.
Re: What?
There is no market cap anymore. That was done away with in 2003.
Re: You guys are crazy!
To AveJoe,
So you thing GOOGLE wants to build out their own wireless network? That makes about as much since as you sticking your head in the mud. Why would they want to waste soooo much money (Billions!!!) just to build a national network when there are about 3 or 4 already in every market??? They just want their SOFTWARE which is what they do, on all those networks that are already up and running. What ...
