It's $50 now through April 9th. Just ordered me one. :)

Yes, changing it to auto in the settings will override it until you use the widget again. I haven't decided if I will use a case yet. I took my phone in to a store today to compare signals. Mine got a signal just as good as the one in the store, and occasionally a little better. They were never more than about 3 dBm apart. And I still haven't had any dropped calls or data loss, not to ...

The "vanilla" screen brightness widget I refer to is a part of the Android power control widget. There are 5 features it controls: wireless, bluetooth, GPS, data sync, and brightness. The DINC2 does have this widget, but I discovered yesterday, that the brightness control does not have the Auto brightness feature for some reason. Not sure why it's not included with the widget on this phone, especially since Auto brightness IS an option in power settings. And yes, setting ...

I usually keep my screen much dimmer inside as well. On the lowest setting, I can see it just fine inside. I do wish the HTC screen brightness widget had the same modes as the vanilla widget, in that it lets you select low-medium-high-auto brightness. The HTC widget is missing the auto setting. But it's no biggie. I'm already getting use to adjusting it easily since it's just a small widget, there's plenty of room on my home screen ...

The battery is definitely better than the DINC1. My husband has to charge his about twice a day. I could probably get 2 full days out of mine if I wasn't constantly playing with it, but I don't like to let it go much past halfway, so I usually just charge it each night. I won't really know how good the battery fares under my normal use until it's newness wears off for me lol. Not the best, but ...

Okay, I posted this in another thread, but I really should have just started a new one. I didn't realize I would be limited to 2000 characters when posting under the Reviews tab. So I am re-posting my original review here, in case anyone who reads my short review wants to read my full version (they can find it easier). I have had my DINC2 for not quite 2 full days now, and so far I am LOVING it! ...

Thanks for clearing that up for us. I hadn't read anywhere that we had to wait 24 months, but since I didn't actually find the new policy on Verizon's website, I wasn't sure if that was the case. And I'm going to post my initial review here, below, and under reviews. I have had my DINC2 for not quite 2 full days now, and so far I am LOVING it! It is very similar to the original, which as I've ...

I googled the upgrade issue, and pretty much everything I found, looking at it briefly, says 20 months. But none of them are official Verizon sites. Just sites reporting the change back in January. I couldn't even find Verizon's official upgrade policy on their website. I'm sure it's hidden in some obscure place they don't want you know about haha. I did also read that as part of the New Every Two program change, that you have 6 months ...

Nope, I'm definitely the techie in this relationship. My husband rarely will even spend money on himself, and I have to talk him into things. This year I forced him into a Kindle, a smart phone and a PS3 lol! I think I'm done. It was torture letting him have nicer gadgets than me. :D It just so happened that at the time I finally got him to break down and shop for a smart phone, the best thing ...

I'll also add this. I just finished reading phonescoop's review for the DINC 2, and while you say it was less than stellar, I didn't see anything incredibly (no pun intended) negative in it other than no 4g (a non-issue obviously, for people truly interested in this phone), and the occasional drop to 1x, which could be a fluke (here's hoping, because that will be a deal-breaker for me). Everything else mentioned in this review sounds like I'm going ...

Well, I've already said why I don't personally want a 4g phone right now. I am waiting for the technology to get better. It's so new and has tons of room for improvement. As far as my jealously statement. I'm simply jealous because his phone is all around nicer than mine, and I rarely let him have any tech device better or newer than mine. Don't even get me started on his Kindle 3 vs. my Kindle 2. Let's ...

Totally agree and said so in another post. We will not be getting 4G in this area anytime in the next year or so because we are in such a rural location. We were one of the last to get 3g as well. I still have the original Moto Droid, which was okay for a while, but I'm having issues with it and totally jealous of my husband's Incredible 1. If it is as nice as what he has, ...

If it were 4G, it would be a larger phone. It would be the Thunderbolt. What's the point in that? Not to mention, they haven't come out with a 3G phone for Verizon in forever, so it was needed. Some of us won't be getting 4G anytime soon (in the next year even), and are tired of the phone we have now. I have the Moto Droid original and I, for one, am thrilled to have a new option. ...

Gee, I don't think I've ever seen a 6 line sentence before. :o Shows the user's intelligence right there. BTW, it's "you're", as in "you are", not "your"... as in "you're an idiot". I just wonder if you realize that no one in their right mind would take someone, who writes that way, seriously. Seriously. But hey, at least your fingers got some exercise.

Odd.... I haven't sent any to my phone recently. But it did work when I first got my phone in March. However, try this out. The file size needs to be less than 300 kb or it won't go through. You can make the file size smaller one of two ways. Either cut the length of the track to 20 seconds, or lower the cd quality. Hope that helps.

That's a good question! I tried it out using all the different fonts and in both modes. The fonts are always large. I never noticed that before. Not really a big deal to me though.

I haven't had any problems with my music playing from my card. I use the SanDisk 512mb card. If you go to Verizon's website, it looks like there's a new Lg slimphone out. Don't know anything about it, but it looks pretty awesome.

Oh yeah, there's also the voice to text mode (Voice Mode). Now THAT's a pain. I don't text enough to spend the time perfecting that method.

I don't text a lot, but I use it at least a couple times a week. Even with the smaller keys, it's still easier to have a QWERTY keyboard than using the crappy predictive text or whatever. I don't really have a problem with the keyboard. And I'm sure the more you use it, the easier it gets and the quicker you can type.

Yeah, mp3's work, but it sounds MUCH better if you change them to midi files. I put an mp3 on mine and it sounded horrible. The sound is clear with the .mid format.

I suppose if you use the phone for several hours a day, you would need to charge it daily, but that's to be expected with any phone. As for myself, I use it maybe a couple hours a day. I don't wait for it to die though. Usually after a day's use I still have 2 bars left, but I go ahead and recharge. I think the battery life is the best I've used in a while. Samsung's battery ...

yes, I had the pink razr with Verizon Wireless. The reception was very good in my area (Southern VA), but the battery live had just gotten absolutely ridiculous in the past few months. I was charging it everyday even if I didn't use the phone, twice a day if I did. The user interface was slow from the first day I got it... but that's a Motorola issue. Every Moto phone I've used has been slow. I tried out ...
