VERY dissapointed

May 22, 2006 by isanblm

PROS: Nice color screen, easy to navigate menus, nifty slider

CONS: Poor battery life, poor call/ringer volume, exterior buttons too close together & it is really annoying to sick in your pocket/purse, because the buttons keep beeping. I don't know if I just got a bad one, but my speaker phone only worked half the time, and it actually froze on me a few times.

The biggest problem for me, and my boyfriend agrees (he has the same phone) .. the call volume sucks. You can barely hear anybody, and I seem to get a lot of interference, no matter where I am. The phone cuts out A LOT. Also, the ringer volume is low, even when turned up the whole way.

Not a good choice

I upgraded my plan and hated to miss out on getting a new phone. Flip phones are not an option for me, so the selection was limited. This phone seemed like a good deal, and the phone service rep recommended it.

Cons:
1. Tons of dropped calls--way more than my old phone.
2. Ring volume is not loud enough. I miss lots of calls even with the phone within arm's reach.
3. Way too easy to hang up on someone by sliding the phone a bit.
4. Not very sturdy.
5. The lock feature activates in like 5 or 10 seconds.
6. In general this phone is not user friendly. The alarm is in the "My Media" menu. Updating contact info is tricky. Just overall not a very easy phone to use.

Pros:
1. Nice size.
2. Speakerphone (although not very loud. I know this is a trend with me, but I promise that I don't have trouble with my hearing).

If you use your cell phone on a daily basis, then you'll regret getting this phone.

New F7200 Owner

Just purchased 4 of these phones outright for my family. My concern was the PTT speaker volume. I compared the Samsung and LG and found the LG to have the louder speaker. Also felt better in my hand than the Samsung. Ear speaker is ok. Could be alittle louder with the volume full up. A couple things I didn't care for: 1. No was to remap the 2 soft keys on the front of the phone. 2. The alarm (which I use to wake up in the morning) doesn't seem to have a snooze button/setting. Also the alarm is slightly difficult to get to. Have to go thru numerous screens to make it.
The Midi ringer is great and the ring volume is more than loud.
Over all this is a very good phone. I have only owned it 24 hours so I am still learning, but my initial impression is this is a great phone.
Later,

It's Okay

I am not a big fan of the slide phone but I was wanting to play with Cingy's PTT, so I opted to get this phone because the only other phone they have was recalled. Phone is kind of bulky, something I am not a fan of. Slide is okay, wife likes it but I am more of a candy bar then flip phone person. Great screen, no trouble reading this thing. Buttons take some getting used to although the menu is very nice. No trouble finding anything. This is my 1st LG...but I will prob take it back for the less bulky Samsung D357. If you like a litter thicker phone try this one, I think you will be impressed.
