A Great Phone Overall, But Limited Bluetooth

Jun 11, 2005 by riverman

Like another reviewer, I bought this phone after owning a Sharp TM150. The TM200 bascially adds everything the TM150 is missing: speakerphone, MP3/AAC player, LED flash, Bluetooth, and of course the 2.0 megapixel camera with autofocus. The speakerphone works well, and can play MP3 files reasonably loud and clearly. The MP3 player can be accessed with a single button push, and continues playing with the phone closed. The included stereo headset is surprisingly good. The LED flash has limited usefulness, but I suppose it could be used as a small flashlight since it can be accessed with only 2 button pushes. The camera is great. The pictures it takes are very sharp, although it takes a second for the autofocus to focus. Still, this is about the only camera phone that even has autofocus! Bluetooth is the biggest disappointment. It's not as crippled as my friend's Motorola V710, but you have to use Sharp's Handset Manager software to synchronize the phonebook with a computer, which only makes that feature useful on a Windows computer. Overall, the phone has everything, and it's well implemented. Functions are easy to access, and they work as advertised. The only disappointments are the time it takes to save a picture (especially in 2.0 MP mode), the limited usefullness of Bluetooth, and possibly the slightly chunky size of the phone, but it is nearly the same size as the TM150, and it's fairly lightweight.

Fantastic Phone

It is a great phone. I had the sharp tm150, i decided to go up to the sharp tm200. Mp3 player is great, quiet though. 2 megapixel is very great, clear and detailed. Phone doesnt have alot of internal memory but expansion slot is nice. I love the phone for the flash. The outside is very nice and more to see than the sharp tm150. Overall it is a great phone and i suggest you buy it. Price is a little to much, but who cares. GREAT PHONE!!!
