Lived up to it's hype

Feb 6, 2003 by John Clay

This phone is great. I have always owned Nokia phones and I was not pleased with my last one, the 3390. I was a little skeptical to buy this phone. However, two of my good friends purchased it and they claimed it was great. I work at a Wireless Sales store and my boss has also heard great things about this phone. Since the price of the phone was extremely afforadable I went with the 3285. It was the best decision I've made, along with switching to Verizon. The Reseption is great the voice quality is excellent. Furthermore, the features are great they have everything I needed, although they are not too extensive. This is a great overall phone, If you don't need/want all the bells and wistles this is definantly the phone for you

Disappointment

I got this phone from Verizon Wireless and after 1 month it completely shut off losing a lot of important information. Nokia gave me a new one and now the antenna came off (without any abuse) and I must buy a new one. I'm highly considering the S. Ericsson T61c, but you should not get this phone. It has made my first cell phone experience a nightmare. Sure it's cute and you can buy awesome covers for it, but it is NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! It's reliability is not so good and durability is definitly not what anyone bargained for. FIND SOMETHING ELSE!

Excellent phone

Nokia has finally got the CDMA phones right! This phone is solid in every way - excellent reception (as opposed to my other phone, the KWC 2235), excellent voice quality. Only drawback is that it doesn't come with a vibrating battery but for 25 dollars that problem can be overcome (buy the vibrating battery online from cellularaccessories.com). It has 2 way SMS capability as well. There is nothing negative about this phone. One of the best. (IMHO and Experience).

I like it alot!
