Pros: Gets good signal, loud.
Cons: Cheap flimsy antenna, Small buttons, battery life, that would indicate there is some which there is not. In the fist week (30 minutes of actual use) I had to charge it 3 times because it was totally dead.
People complain about the camera, yes it's real bad, very dark. However if you want to take great pictures, go and buy a actual camera. People complain about no music. Go buy a MP3. It's a phone, In my experience a real bad phone but a phone. This is the second Motorola cell phone I have bought. The first was a V180 (Junk) threw it away after 1 year. The second was the V710 which lasted almost a month. I haven't even gotten my first bill with the new service and the V710 is outside in the garbage can. Nokia on order.
This is just my experience with this phone. My brother has one and likes it. He never turns it on which is probably why he likes it but he likes it. I personally will never buy another Motorola product, I have had much better luck with Nokia.
I gave it a .5 rating instead of -0- because the signal was good and I could drive down the road and hear who I was talking to.

its not that bad!!
I was the second owner of this phone because my original verizon v3 razr broke in half, so i saw the v710 and i thought it would be a good phone. I looked at the reviews after i had already bought the phone and i began to think i mad a mistake with my purchase.It is a tad bulky and unless you are in bright light the camera is very dark. It also scratches easily, but surprisingly it is very sturdy.The speakerphone is great. Overall this phone isn't that bad.

Perfect
This phone is the best I have ever owned. I drive for UPS so I am out in the country a lot and this phone is remarkable! It may not have the most up to date gizmos but as far as signal strength , it is awesome!

Good phone...Overall
I've owned this phone for about 3½ wks now, so far so goood. The first thing i did was replace the battery with an extended one....the phone has very good reception and sound quality. Nice large color screen, happy that the phone has a card slot...not really worried bout using the bluetooth since it has a card slot, anything i want to put on the phone i can by using a micro SD card...the camera pictures are not the best but i can live with it, plus i like that it does have an MP3 player. Didn't care to much for the ringtones that came with the phone but that wasn't a problem..i just downloaded a few from the internet and transferred them to the SD card and now i have what i want. the only thing i don't like about the V710 is that it's alittle to big & bulky...but other than that i really like this phone alot!!

I want to keep it for ever!!!
I have owned many phones that had the bells and whistles, but nothing compares to owning this very simple reliable phone. I am the second owner of this phone since I took over the contract from my mother I receive it mint condition. I must have drop this phone probably 6-700 times hitting ceramic, wood,and asphalt from a 3ft fall and hasn’t broke yet. Compare to more expensive phones. Perfect reception 99.9% of time words can’t truly explain how much I love this phone. Planning on buying another online since dropping this phone has been taking it toll.

Awsome Phone
This is the best phone I have ever seen and had! I love this phone, it has great connection, great color, and is the best!

well, shoot...i like it!
bought this as a new customer with alltel. used to be a sprint customer (grrr...) but decided to switch and give someone else a try. this phone was one of not very many phones that alltel had on display but it cost the most so i assumed that the most expensive one they had was the best and newest. i hadnt done any research on this phone, i chose it because of that reason only. that being said...
sooo glad i did get it. i dont need the camera or the mp3 player or even the video mode (however that camera did come in handy in august when i had a car accident and the guy swore he didnt do it. he will be seeing me and my picfone pictures in court...)i just wanted a phone that didnt drop a call whenever i breathed too hard. so basically IF YOU WANT A GOOD PHONE WITH GREAT RECEPTION, THIS IS IT!!
i have dropped 7 calls in the past 6 months.
and if i remember correctly, most of those were during a storm or because my battery was dying. i drove thru the Chesapeake Bay tunnel. i had a full conversation on the phone the entire time. the last phone i had lasted about 30 feet into the tunnel.
all the other stuff, fun. i get good ringers, albeit expensive, alltel charges $2.99 per ringer. at least with other carriers you can find websites that give free ringers...but thats another gripe.
i dont use this phone for anything other than talking and texting. it does both of those beautifully. so to finish
PROS-big screen, clamshell design, nice speakerphone, voice dial in 2 languages (its tons of fun to play with that in spanish too), excellent reception, loud volume, at times too loud.
CONS- battery is ok at best, but i keep a car charger, camera is mediocre, but like i said, will do in a pinch. the accessories are expensive but thats not just motorolas fault, sooo...
all in all, i do love it. the best phone ive ever bought.

Motorola V710 Reception Unbelievable
I have read every review with regard to the V710. Having come from Nextel and then to Verizon was a move in the right direction. My first phone was the LG 7000. This was a good phone however the reception does not compare to the V710. I have been in the same locations with both phones and the V710 has never failed to have excellent reception. You must take the time to review the manual as to what this phone can and cannot achieve. If you are looking to play games don't buy a phone. Get a PS2. Some of the bad reviews are related to what the this phone or no other phone is capable of doing.If the MP3 is not favorable, get an Ipod. As far as I am concerned this phone is top of the line. Excellent reception, ease of use, bluetooth (works great), menus, etc. Someone had mention the light on the keypad.If you want it on all the time, leave the battery save feature "Off". With the save battery feature "On" a photo sensor will activate the light as it gets darker. The darker, the more the brightness of the keypad. Get this phone, you cannot go wrong.

Excellent Phone!!
This review is in to response to what one consumer said about the mp3 feature not working when the phones is closed. The mp3 player does work when the phone is closed. I don't know if motorola had released newer versions on the v710 to verizon or what, but the phone i have does play mp3 songs while the phone is closed. simply go the menu options, go to media gallery, select sounds, select your song, play it, then press the soft key below the word hide, then press clear button to go back to the main screen, close your phone and there you are. mp3 while your phone is closed. overall i think the phone is great! many great features!

This Phone Has it all
This phone has it all!!!! It will impress all of your friends. It also has the latest easyedge stuff and blue tooth is way cool. The camera is very good too. Also the phone connects very quickly and has a slot for a memory card
