NO PROBLEMS

Jul 15, 2006 by mambojazz

I've owned the V180 for about 1 1/2 years. I've never had a single problem with it. The reception is excellent, no dropped calls (**Cingular**) and not a complaint I can come up with. While I knew it had no camera, the only thing I wish it DID have was bluetooth capability. It can receive picture files, audio files, etc. and has amazingly good quality sound. It has a "good feel" to it; fits my hand nicely, is small but has enough weight to make it easy to use.

I'd highly recommend it. I'm not sure why so many of the reviews have been negative???

Horrible

This phone was possibly the worst one I have ever had. My father has a Nokia 3310, those dont even have a color screen, and he chose that over the v180. I was stuck with the v180 and it was horrible. Service sucks. None at my house.

Pros-
Battery life is O.K.>>>>could be better
Faceplates can be changed easily
speaker phone is ALRIGHT.. not great or even good
internet connection is kinda fast if you have good service.

Cons-
No Service
Screen is horrible
No Camera
No Voice Dialing
Screensaver and wallpapers are just terrible
Ringtones are baddddd
Can't feal the Vibrating feature well
Most ringtones aren't loud enough to hear

This is a all around PISS POOR phone

crappiest phone ever!!!

This has got to be the worst phone ever. I have had the phone for over a year and had it replaced twice for the same issue. The screen just blanks out and you can keep trying whatever you like and nothing is going to bring it back. Motorola should never have made thsi phone. I'll never buy motorola again. v180 sucks!!!

Crappyand a poor excuse for a phone

Ok, first off, being that this is a motorola, I figured it'd be a good phone, but boy was I wrong.

Pros:
> Flip phone
> easy to operate for people who doesn't know a dang thing about technology (like my mother....)
> MP3 ringtones (used for ringtones, notifications, message tones, ect...
> Loud ringers

Not much, but the cons have stronger numbers

Cons:
> Black and white external display- crappy > Reception is horrible
> No camera!! Stupid phone
> Has only four pre-downloaded wallpapers
> Vibration sucks
> Faceplates are heck to try and change
> Not durable at all, the screen on mine cracked when I freakin sat down and it was in my pocket against my leg.

I'm telling you now, this phone is horrible. Motorola really has gone downhill recently. This phone isn't even worth the money that you would spend on it. If it comes free, still don't even take it. Don't say that I didn't warn all of you.

This Phone Sucks DON'T BUY!

I was thinking about writing a review for this phone the other night. It was going to be a good review for the most part. Its been a little over a year and I wake up this morning and turn my fully charged phone on. To my suprise when I went to call my voice mail it just went black. After waiting a few moments it came "Back to Life" Then I tried to call my mother, went black again. Sifting through the innard remains of my now useless phone i realized that my phonebook is not accessible either!!! Ive lost every single one of my numbers since they were all saved to my "Trusty" phone. [...] Don't Buy it, Buy an Old school Nokia if you have to, they are WAY better!!

Ed. note: Removed profanity

Had to replace 3 V180's in 6 months - a real LEMON

May 11, 2006 by StarMan

At first glance, the V180 would seem decent. For being offered for free, the features weren't too bad. I liked the looks and the sound worked well enough.

Of course when I had 3 of them go bad in a peried of 6 months my opinion quickly changed. The first phone's screen went whacky on me. The second phone, a replacement, was bad from opening the box. It kept shutting off at random points in the converstion. The microphone became full of static (which would crackle when you changed grip on the phone) and then quit working entirely.

Obviously the V180 is build exceedinly poorly. You can feel the cheapness in the construction and the always-fritzy operation.

Don't let a nice look and a few somewhat nice features fool you. This phone is a LEMON.

bad phone don't buy it

Bad Static

I received 2 of these phones for free through a family share plan with Cingular Wireless in WV. The phone seemed to work just fine for about 10 months. The first phone that I had a problem with was still under the 1yr warranty with Cingular. Out of the blue the phone had so much static that other callers could not even hear you. They all said it was like I was not on the line. Cingular replaced the phone and I have had no more problems with that phone. The other phone did the same thing after 13 months, 1 month out of warranty. I am now unable to use the phone and have just purchased a used samsung from Ebay hoping it will work. Stay away from this phone, too many other consumers having the same problem.
