An emergency phone becomes my primary phone

Apr 13, 2015 by mknilsen

Carrier: MetroPCS

Let me start off with this.... that I thought the world would come to an end when my Samsung Note 3 went for a swim in an ocean. I had taken a long tome to customize it and had made it my own. I decided to get this little ZTE concord 2 yo hole me over until a new one came in the mail. I needed something that could handle a 32th sd card and could run a couple of CRM apps.

This did that and had energy to spare. thus phone could keep up with my busy lifestyle and with its size could easily fit in my coat pocket.....Sorry Samsung but your note needed a belt clip. It has a crystal clear sound for calls and music here in New Hampshire and the signal is better than most other carriers in my area. I was astonished at the ease of use the size and mostly.... the value. Granted I may have picked this up in a bargain bin at a local Wal-Mart.... but I have decided to make it my everyday phone and decline the new Samsung Note.
My only cons about this phone is the lock screen which does not have proper controls for music apps like Slacker and Pandora.... the ONLY things Samsung got right... but I can live with that.

Will buy a ZTE phone every time if given a chance.

Surprisingly Pretty Amazing

Jun 4, 2014 by Bknownst

Carrier: MetroPCS

I bought this phone to hold me over while the screen on my Galaxy S4 is being replaced and picked it based solely on the price ($29.00 now).

So far I have been pleasantly surprised at the quality of this phone. The first day of use I decided to test the limits of the battery. I left the house at 7AM and started WiFi, Facebook, and left Spotify running in the background. At end of work day (5PM), the phones battery was still at 93%. My Galaxy cannot even hold up for even close to that long.

The processor reacts as quickly if not quicker that that of the Galaxy, the screen is crisp and colorful, the speaker is louder than any other phone I have ever heard, and the call quality is perfect (on Metro PCS in Philadelphia). I'm not much of a camera user, so I really can't vouch for anything regarding the camera quality/usage.

My only real gripe with the phone is that it is a bit on the heavy/bulky side.

All in all, you definitely will not find a phone of this quality at this price range. I am seriously considering keeping this phone and selling my Samsung Galaxy when it is repaired. It seriously is THAT good.

Very good, inexpensive phone

Jun 20, 2014 by 3baddogs

Carrier: T-Mobile

I'm in process of switching to a new carrier as my old one is wildly expensive. T-mobile has had coverage problems in the past, but are currently covering my work location at one of the most remote sites in the US with 3G. I still have a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini on the other carrier while I check coverage so this review compares this phone to that.

Pro's: Runs Jellybean, good interface, almost no bloatware, nice video picture, pretty good camera, loudest cell phone I've ever heard (I put it in the windowsill of the bathroom and could hear my streamed radio over the water ... neither the Galaxy nor my previous iphone could be heard), pretty pure android experience, exceptional battery life. It was fully charged this morning ... I have been using it constantly all day. Streamed music for three hours while I'm customizing, updating and deleting apps and getting my accounts in order and it's also been downloading all the backup from my Galaxy, and now I'm streaming Italy v Costa Rica (wifi) and it indicates 63% of battery still left. The Samsung would've called it a night about an hour ago. Also, biggest pro for a phone of this quality, it is literally one sixth the price of the Galaxy (in the US in my market), and a totally comparable phone.

Cons: The Galaxy has prettier built in sounds, but the ZTE's aren't horrible and you can fix that. I haven't yet been able to find a way to change the font. You can change the font size, but I want the text to look the way I want it to look ... purely a personal preference and not a real 'con'. The internal storage is not quite the Galaxy's. I have an sd card in neither, because I'm apparently married to google and all my storage is done up to the cloud, and the Galaxy was fine with no sd card (just never got around to it). I have already had to delete a few apps off this one because the storage was getting limited, but they were not apps I ever used. Wallpaper app sucks but you can use google's.

pcs liars

Carrier: MetroPCS

Make sure you read it for yourself because the metro pcs reps will say anything to make a sale. Like this phone does not include a SD card. Their computer that tells you what parts of town have good coverage is fictitious. It says my address has excellent signal but when I get home there is no signal. The phone itself comes with a broken SD port, doesn't work when charging, and various buggy problems. You get what you pay for. No deals here.
