Best SmartPhone I've Owned

Jan 3, 2014 by jrodriguez77

I have owned almost every HTC phone that has came on the market for Sprint, except the HTC One. My last phone was the HTC EVO 4G LTE, which I loved and didn't have too many complaints outside of Sprint's normal spotty coverage and lack of 4G in my area.

I read many reviews on this phone and decided to go for it, I do not like the Galaxy Amoled screens so this seemed to match up to specs of the Galaxy lineup. I am 100% pleased with my decision. No phone is perfect, that's unrealistic...so here's my pro's and con's.

PROS:
-Screen is beautifully clear without the cartoon feeling of the Galaxy Amoled screens.
-Camera takes amazing 13mp shots
-Internal memory is more than I would ever need ( I was worried about lack of MSD slot but have more room than I can dream of )
-Phone runs very smooth with multiple apps running at the same time.
-Buttons on back take getting used too but have came in handy while in-call, so pleased.
-LG Software does not give "stock" android feel and is just the right touch without being too bloated.
-Phone is almost exactly the size of my old HTC EVO 4G LTE yet the screen is at least a half inch larger! Screen runs almost to the full edge of the phone and I love it!

CONS:
-When taking photos with a flash it takes longer 2-3 seconds, as I believe it determines how close subjects are before capturing photo.
-Headphone jack is on the bottom of the phone, I often place my phone in my car cupholder while plugged into my stereo by the AUX cord and now I have to have it upside down.

There you have it. Anyone who loves a big phone that doesn't feel like a tablet and who is wanting to upgrade I would recommend this device too. Having been my first LG phone ever, I was not disappointed! Samsung and Apple should be VERY afraid!

Best Phone!

Dec 11, 2015 by RisingWolf   updated Dec 11, 2015

Best phone I've ever had. For me, perfect "hand" size, superior battery life. Fast and efficient. Tweaked by changing runtime to Dalvik. Encryption enabled manually on device. Rooted as well. Current software version I am running is 4.4.2. LOVE the back controls and "knock on knock off" feature!

Pros: battery life, size, display, camera, signal.

Cons: None for me.

Reluctant at first, love this phone now

May 30, 2014 by PhoneVeteran

I'll admit, I was pissed when I got home and realized the G2 had no MSD slot. But, after reviewing the manual, I'm ok with 32 GB internal storage. I use Google drive and I connect it to my PC to remove pictures (strangely enough, that's all I've been able to access so far- I'm sure this setup makes it irritating to root the phone, and that was the point). Sprint's obnoxious bloatware was easily removed, except for the constant reminder that there's an "update" available for my phone.

PROs:
-Sound is nice and loud, assuming you're not mashing the bottom speakers into your hand.
-All ports are on the same side of the phone, which means it doesn't look like you've removed Iron Man's chest core and have it wired into your dash
-Double-tap feature is frustrating at first, but not hard to get used to. And it's freaking cool. If this bothers you, get a closing case- the phone wakes automatically when you open it.
-Both cameras are awesome; so is the flash
-Battery life has been incredible so far. It's only been a few days, but I've never been able to run IHeartRadio via Bluetooth speakers for 2 hours and only use 12% battery life.
-Screen size. Let me rephrase that: SCREEN SIZE. The front of this thing is almost all screen. I'm not a Phablet fan, and the size of this phone is about as big as I want. So getting this much display makes me happy.
-Buttons on the back mean I don't pause my game in THE MOST EXCITING PART. >:(

CONs:
-Lack of MSD slot... yeah, I said I'm ok with it, but I love my expandable memory slot.
-Closed cover mode needs to have more features, like the old 8200. Why can I not control my music apps, preview texts, etc? Hooray, I have like 6 clocks to choose from.

So, if you're an old LG fan or just looking for a change from another manufacturer, you may want to give the G2 a spin.

LG G2

Nov 27, 2013 by deniseparsons1953

I love this phone!! It is fantastic in 4G markets, even fast in 3G markets...The power button and the volume buttons are on the back...love that, too...much better than the Samsung Galaxy S3. The touch screen is phenominal. I recommend this phone to anybody.

Beware

May 3, 2014 by farrow.gregory

This is the worst cell phone I have every own. T Mobile send me out two both was defected and last about 6 weeks before the problems started. Will never own a LG phone again. It would be a great phone if it last more then 6 weeks.
