Call Log Problem

Jul 29, 2004 by estrella371

This phone is really cute and small!
However, there is something wrong with its call long which is quite annoying...and after you spend an entire day on the phone with verizon and samsung representatives trying to explain to them that while you are on the phone with someone you also get a missed call from that same person you tend to overlook its cute appearance.

What happens is when you look in your call log (recent calls or press SEND button) it shows you two calls from a person that just called you. One as a call waiting and another as missed even though you were just talking to this person. Plus it does not show you the duration of your call.

You CAN get rid of that problem, but resetting ALL your settings. But then you'll be stuck with that annoying default ring and won’t be able to change any other settings.

Hopefully Samsung will be able to fix this and come out with an upgrade. Call them and bug them about it!

Battery life issue

Jul 22, 2004 by sms_maniac

I have had this phone for about 6 weeks now. It replaced an LG VX6000. I have had a strange battery life issue which I can only assume is a software glitch. I have not been able to find any reference to this on the web. After fully charging the phone overnight, I would take it off of the charger in the morning when I left for work at about 7:30am. By 3pm at the latest, it was completely drained and turned itself off. This is regardless of usage. I could make several calls and texts, or absolutley no calls or texts and it would still be dead by mid afternoon. I went back to the Verizon store within my 15 day window. I explained this to them and they said they have not had an issue but they gave me a new battery. I properly charged the battery and tried again. No help. Still completely dead by mid afternoon. I suffered with this for about a week by bringing my charger to the office and always using the car charger until I could get to the Verizon store for a new phone. I assumed my handset was bad. I got a new phone and they copied over my contacts for me. Should work now right? Nope. No change at all. New phone and another new battery, still dead and shutting off by mid afternoon after an all night charge. Obviously not acceptable so I decided to return the phone after my weekend camping trip. Over the weekend, the phone stayed charged for days without charging. About on par with the battery life I got from my LG. Huh? Here's the difference. I use my phone as an alarm clock every day, and did not need that on the weekend camping trip. I tested this by not using the alarm for a few days when I returned. The phone stayed charged with normal usage for 3 days without charging. I used the alarm once as another test, and the phone was dead by mid afternoon. Understand the phone is on the charger when alarming and is still fully charged when I leave for the day. It seems there is a software glitch somehow related to using the alarm. (Ver A670.XD19)

Love this phone-

Just got this phone a week ago, and so far I love it. Great features, wonderful color and plenty of volume selections to choose from. Technology gets better each day and this has proven it so far in my book. Reception is great in most all areas. Size and weight are excellent and the camera feature, along with other features are easy to use.

What will they come up with next? Compared to the other camera/video phones, this one has proven to be the best so far.

This phone rocks

Usually i go through phones very quickly. I get bored with a phone after about 4 months then i buy a new one at about 6 months. I have had this phone for 6 months and i dont plan on getting rid of it for a long long time and when i am up for a new phone its going to be really tough getting rid of this phone. I have talked 186 hours on this phone and I havent noticed any difference in the battery life at all. It also feels very sturdy when i open the phone.

Pros:
Great battery life
Nice camera
Display on the front of the camera
Loud ringer
Compact size
great reception

Cons:
no speakerphone
calender limited to about 20 events

i work for a verizon agent and this is the phone that i recomend for so many people!

Nice - (also, the switching from ring to vibrate problem not as bad as others say)

Aug 5, 2004 by Villabob

I've owned the Samsung 670 for a week and am relatively happy with it. My old phone was a now-ancient Motorola Startac, so it's easy for me to be impressed by new features that may very well be common on other newer phones, but that I never had. In any event...

Pros
-Good sound quality
-Voice-activated dialing works well
-Menu navigation is fairly easy
-Camera is fine for the quick, need a picture of that usage, but not for any real pics. Most come out a little blurry. If you plan to take pictures, bring a real camera.

Cons
-The outside LCD only lights up when you open the phone up. Even in daylight, it's near impossible to read when not lit up. Having to open it in order to light it up defeats the purpose of having the display on the outside. (at that point you can just read the inside lcd.) Even the Verizon rep I talked to in the store was stumped about this.

-This may just be me, but there's a little cover over the headset "hole" (can't recall what you call that for some reason.) I chew my nails, which I admit is my own problem, but without them, I can't for the life of me remove the headest cover without using a needle or something tiny. I even tried my keys, which didn't work. Unfortunately, the cover isn't completely removable, otherwise I would never put it back on. It's still attached to the phone even when the "hole" is uncovered and sometimes slips back into place. So when driving, if I want to use a headset, I literally have to pull over to work the darned thing open. Nit-picky, yes, but still a problem for me.

One last note...
-In fairness to Samsung, some of the earlier reviews complain that switching from ring to vibrate (including for voicemail) is a lengthy, annoying process. I thought so too until the stumped rep showed me the quick and easy way of doing it. (Just press # and hold for a few seconds and everything goes to "silent mode". Press and hold again to exit this mode.)

i like this phone..

i just got this phone yesterday.. i love the camera.. i was so excited when i got it.. the only thing i don't like about it is that it can't hold that many ring tones.. and i really love ring tones.. well besides that everything else is cool.. except i don't understand the whole number of pictures the camera can hold thing.. it starts off high then it goes down really fast.. but the camera's nice.. the colors are nice.. it looks good.. very good phone.. nice price.. value packed

i also switched from sprint to verizon.. verizon is much better than sprint. i used to have a sanyo scp-8100.. it's an alright phone.. but does not compare to this phone at all.. sprint sucks!
