OUTSTANDING!!!

Dec 26, 2008 by dewayneu

Let me start off by saying that since the up[date this phone rocks and kicks major butt. It's very sold and has the ability to suit just about everybody needs and wants. It can do it all with ease i really have nothing bad to say about the crackberry. The camera speed can use a little but other than that it's PERFECT. I LOVE IT....

BB STORM

Dec 8, 2008 by kdawwg

Lets not compare apples to oranges, for all those who compare this to the Iphone, its not an iphone.

Pros:

screen
3.2 MP camera/flash auto focus
GPS
visual voicemail
hd screen for movies,
"clickable screen" have to get used to
loud speaker
up to 16gb card expandable slot

Cons"
heavy
slow, but upload new software patch, much better os 75

not much more to say, except its a nice phone, but h ave to get used to, be patient with it, and dont listen to ALL THESE CLOWNS COMPARING IT TO THE IPHONE, ATT SUCKS, VZW IS MUCH CLEARER AND BETTER SERVICE

This Storm is Brewin..

Great device.

Overall, it is almost funny how many people want to talk about my Storm.

Truly.. people need to to talk about phones!

Any way, VZW is back on the map with cool and fresh devices.

Screen clarity (looks great)

Loud speaker phone, office quality

3.2 camera and video

Voice clarity is great!

As always, Email is seamless.

This is a gret device, the only con I believe is that it is a tad heavy. Other than that, tremendous unit and I highly recommend.

great device

I love this phone, everyone needs to remember it is a Blackberry first not an Iphone. I like the Iphone but i like the OS on a Blackberry much better. Do not try to compare it to the Iphone. I love the touch screen, i don't make mistakes typing or scrolling, the click is what i like. It does take some time to get the feel of the phone a bit of a learning curve but when you take the time to learn it you will love it. To me this is the ultimate device a touch screen (which i love) and a Blackberry (which i love). I do not find the phone lagging at all it is fast enough for me. I'm sure if you give it enough time and learn your phone you will like it, you have 30 days test it out.

Do not be fooled

Do not be fooled by this phone! I purchased this phone three weeks ago. Before purchasing it, I browsed various reviews online before making me decision between the storm and the curve. Basically the gist that I got was that at first the storm had a lot of problems like most phones do but that now that it had been out for some time, the kinks were all worked out. This, however, is not the case! At first when I got the phone I thought it was very cool. I thought it had a cool design to it and I thought the touch screen would be a cool thing. I had difficulty typing with it at first but thought that it was just something that I would have to get used to. Three weeks later I wanted to throw the phone into a brick wall! If you are someone that hardly ever text messages or send e-mails, then maybe you will like this phone, but if you are someone who loves to text you will hate this phone!

Pros:
-Camera- it was better than all of the other blackberrys because it has a higher pixelation

Cons:
-Touch Screen: SO DELAYED! Constantly would freeze! Any time you would tilt it the slightest bit, it switches the way the screen appears and it was also delayed in this process, and you also have to push way too hard on the screen to get it do what you want
-Texting: constantly typing the wrong words, can't text fast with this at all! Seriously made me never want to text EVER on it!
-Making Calls: when you hit a number on the keyboard it is delayed by about 7 seconds
-SO SLOW IN GENERAL!
-The Screen is also not sealed all the way so some light still shines through my concern would be having a slightest bit of a rain drop get inside the phone through the portion of the screen that isnt sealed
-The camera turns on randomly sometime probably because the software sucks!
-Delayed when you try and answer phone

I really thought this was going to be a cool phone but it is def not! DO NOT BUY!!! luckily i was able to return for the curve which I love! WORST PHONE EVER! BIG MISTAKE IF YOU BUY IT

got it....

Nov 21, 2008 by ginster6

got it this morning. waiting an 1 hour at 6:30 this morning.

pro-
it is what is is. first blackberry touchscreen.
-built very nice
-has all the feature you can get.
-loud and clear on phone
-data network is pretty fast, not lock up.

con-
I know there is a new fireware coming out. so for right now.
-MY STORM HAS A TOUCHSCREEN PROBLEM. sold out, cannot exchange.
-u have to really get used to the click screen.
-OS is slow as hell.
-hor to ver screen is slow.
-using phone mode is a pain, contact book is not as easy as other BB. "just type name". need multi key before you get in there.

there is probably more I can say, but have it for only 5 hour, i have not got thru everything.

I upgrade from curve,pearl,8830,8703

storm responce time

Nov 25, 2008 by stayevowe

i personally like the phone not love it but like it. i have to say at first it was slow but i have a tech friend that informed me about some options on the phone. there is a setting in the phone to change the response time to make it faster to do so just follow this:
Open the BB menu by pressing the BB Menu button.
Scroll down to 'Options', select by pressing the icon.
Scroll to 'Screen/Keyboard' and select.
Scroll to 'Touchscreen'.

Increase the Tap Interval to 500.
Increase the Hover Period to 1000.
Increase the Swipe Sensitivity to High (6).
Key Rate to Fast.

that should help all of you that say that the phone response time is slow.
pros:
audio clarity, graphic detail(awsome, swear it has to be a HD screen but not sure.)supports more than just 3gp vidio format (avi. wmv. mp4.)
cons:
short battery life (when using applications)

besides all that the phone is great. give it some time it is still new and just like ALL phones there are bugs that need to be worked out

Very dissapointing.

I spent a hour with the phone today.

I currently own a Dare which I would give a 4 out of 5.

I was hoping that this would be better than the Dare but it is not even close.

I was hoping for a better browser than the one in the Dare but the browser in the Storm was much worse as I could not type in www.drudgereport.com as I wanted to see how it rendered that page as a comparison to the iphone which shows the whole page like you would see on a regular computer screen where on the Dare it shows a narrow slice of the page. Well I could not even get the URL in the phone correctly with many tries. I would very carefully push the D and I got the F or S. Really bad. I also would have liked WiFi but no deal.

I hate to say this that this product will probably sell more iphones than Storms!

You would think that after 2 years that Verizon could have a real iphone competitor.

I guess I will have to wait and see what LG's next touch phone will be like as they are way ahead of RIM in my opinion.

needs alot of work

Big let down

Nov 22, 2008 by YankeeMarshal

I was so sad my company switched to verizon. I wanted them to go to at&t so I could get a iphone. I have only played with the iphone but i own an itouch which i use alot. but then I cheered up when they announced the Storm. Then I got my hands on the Storm and have owned it (at my own expense) for a full day and a half now. Once again I am so sad my company switched to verizon. This phone is a stop-gap failure obviously rushed through to stop the flood of yuppies that have been dropping verizon for the iphone.

PROS:
pretty screen
e-mail capabilities with instant push
stylish looking phone

CONS:
slow, stop&go software
bugs, bugs, bugs
freezes often
awkward interface
did I mention SLOOOOWWWWW
no wifi!?!?!? are you kidding me?

Conclusion:
Failure with potential if improved upon.
