Model C711ORX Where Almost There

Apr 2, 2009 by GrumBag

I have owned every Casio G'zOne phone. Each one has gotten a little better. Casio and Verizon still needs to take a few lessens from Motorola, example i580.
The next version should be a true rubber overmold. The rubber coating on the phone now is like paint, it wears, scratches and comes off. The PTT and Volume Buttons still need to be more pronounced and maybe rubber. It is still very hard to feel them. Also, the PTT button should always be under the volume buttons because ergonomically, it is hard to hold the phone with thumb and middle finger. You will always find on a Moto iDen phone and most other PTT phones the PTT button in the correct arrangement, that way you hold the phone with thumb and index finger while using middle for PTT.
Battery life could be better also and keypad very poorly lit.

Other than that, audio is great, signal is great. Phone looks and feels very good. And I love a monochromatic outside screen because its imperveous to sunlight!!!!!!

Had to Respond...This Phone is FANTASTIC

I have to say I almost never review products online, thought I do research items exhaustively before I make a purchase....so you can imagine my dismay when I read the horrible reviews about this phone.

Despite the bad reviews, since I have been very please with my Type V over the past two years I decided to take a chance, and I am very glad that I did. I think this phone is better in every way than the type V. Smaller, lighter, similar if not better sound quality, Bluetooth...and for me at least, a much more stable signal. It seems to send and receive texts and sync my contacts over the air MUCH quicker than my type V did as well.

I just received my phone, so I have the newest edition (speaker on front) with the latest software (version V9230M10). I am sorry for the early adopters as I have no doubt that their complaints are valid. But if you are looking for a bulletproof phone, I encourage you not to be put off by the negative reviews. This is an awesome piece of equipment....at least the latest version is.

Pretty cool!!!

I use this phone as a secondary phone and in all honesty I do like it. I've had plenty of phones in the past few years with Verizon and I do like it. I'm normally a high tech phone person but I figured since it's just a secondary phone why not try it. It comes with the extended battery now as well as the standard battery. I wouldn't use this as a primary phone but it's a good basic phone for someone. I like the fact that it's waterproof and that it has a flashlight and that it has multi colored lights that flash when the phone rings or when you get a txt (yes I love lights). The sound is good on it and the speaker is just a little too loud but that's a good thing in certain situations. Overall it's a cool basic phone for people who like the basics.

Pros:
-Extended battery comes with standard
-Desktop Chaarger as well as wall charger included
-Flashlight
-Speaker on the front
-Great sound
-And sturdy, doesn't feel flemsy

Cons:
Screen on front should be in color
-battery life could be a little longer
-wish the batteries could be charged in the desktop charger without the phone

Update Fixed Everything

I purchased this beast of a cell phone a month ago and it works fantastic since the firmware update. It comes with 2 batteries and when you have a Premium plan, you can download everything!!! MVP, Nav, Email Sync, Backup Assist, Fieldforce Manager, plus Music Player, Camera, Video, Flash, So, Much, More. NOTE^^^ I give the Boulder 4 stars because the battery has to be charged daily. I use my phone about 45 min on average daily and I am a very heavy texter and browser.

After reading early reviews I waited til Casio upgraded the software on this phone. I went and checked it out and it is awesome loud ringers, earpiece easy to set up and tons of features. Plus it is a tank I got the extended life battery and a silicon cover.

I think the phone is just fine. I like the fact that the phone will not break when dropped. Good signal, great sound. The phone feels sturdy in your hand.

Keeping the Phone

Sep 15, 2008 by Bioamerican

I have had the Boulder since before it was in stores, so about a month and a half.

and i am definitely keeping it, i have had no problem with the phone what so ever other than the battery life.

I had the Palm Treo 700P for 2 years and decided to upgrade to the Boulder cause i was tired of worrying about my phone getting wet. Personally i think the Boulder has BETTER sound quality than the Treo(how ever not perfect) i am not asking people to repeat as much with the boulder.

Pro's

-Water Proof (gone swimming more than i have)
-Flashlight
-Compass
-Elegant design
-Sturdy construction

Con's

-Battery life SUCKS
-Drilled 4 holes in holster to hear it
-Battery cover moves a bit(still water proof)
-shouldn't have music (speaker isn't that good)
-PTT (why do they bother?)

Worst Verizon Phone Yet

Aug 19, 2008 by hankhale

Have had it two weeks and the only good thing I can say about it is that it is waterproof. It has the worst sound quality of any phone I have ever used, making it virtually unusable. I keep having to hang up and go to a landline to call customers back. It is awkward for texting. Why can't someone make a good water resistant phone?

Pros: waterproof

Cons: sound quality

I don't want to lower the volume!

PROS

Water resistant

CONS

Everything! Key pad sucks, audio sucks, UI sucks, battery sucks, speaker sucks, everything on this phone just sucks except its water resistant ability.

To the people who are recommending that you just lower the volume and all is fine, that's total nonsense! You should be able to turn up the volume and have loud clear sound!
What a thought, eh? Verizon released a joke of a phone, and I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone.

I'll give it a 0.5 only because it's water resistant and turns on.

it's a brick

I too was very excited about this phone but.... extremely let down. I gave the phone a week and went back to my old G'zone.

Pros: water resistant and shock proof.

Cons: EVERYTHING!!!! sound quality is the pits at best.
If feels cheaply built and a bit flimsy.
Battery life is pitiful and the bluetooth will stop working for no reason.

Suggestions: Don't but this phone!!
