Great Entry Level Phone

Feb 24, 2009 by inner_pyro

I was kinda hesitant abut the ZTE at first because of the cheap plastic feel. The phone honestly feels like a McDonald's toy. The phone has surprised me though. I have to say in the four months that we sold it I didn't see a single ne come back with issues. This is a all time first. I have to say that you get your moneys worth with this. Well heres the break down of what i thought the phone had to offer and lacked.

Pros:
-Large Screen, Roughly the size of a V3 screen
-Keys are separated but easy enough to text.
-Standard Bluetooth (To my knowledge only supports bluetooth headset.)
-Easy to navigate
-VGA Camera(I'd say a lil more than what i expected for VGA)
-Decent Preset ringers
-Just from what I've seen pretty reliable.
-Web Browser

Cons:
-Cheap feel, I mean mean really cheap feel.
-Really wished to bluetooth ringers.
-Wished for true tone

i just bought this phone yesturday and the phone hasn't gave me any problems yet but i should of read the reviews before i bought it. the fact that its unlimited calling its great because im always calling my family and i don't have a home phone i just hope that this phone will last me because im tired of switching phones because they come out to be defective. i guess they don't make phones the same anymore like before. i like to test different phone what i can say about metro that they improved signal in my area where i live at. now i get perfect reception in my apartment. a phone is a phone i would recomend the zte to anyone that wants a simple camera phone to take pictures and just calling thats all i have to say.

ZTE C88

I have had this phone for about a month now and here is what I have found. Keep in mind that I believe a phone is just that a phone, to be used to communicate either with voice or texting. The other things are just perks to me.

This phone is not worth the money. This thing should have been tested alot more before it was released to the public.

1. Hinge on the flip is weak at best. After just two days of moderate use it began to wiggle from side to side.

2. Reception: Great if your with walking distance of the tower. If not look for a lot of dropped calls

3. Display: Difficult at best to see in daylight, indoors its ok if you can get passed some lines on the display.

4. Battery life: With modeerate use, Voice and texting it will not last even eight hours. On standy by with no use at all I was able to get three and a half days out of it.

5. Texting: The text input is rather nice, predicts most words, dictionary is fairly up to date. This is by far the best feature on this device.

As for some of the other features the phone claims to have.

6. Bluetooth: Paired easy with number of headsets. Was able to find other phones when searching. However would not transfer files.

7. Camera: is about what I would expect from a low end phone.

8. Price: Overpriced for what it is listed for. Would be a better deal if it was under a hundred bucks.

9. Web: To say the least its crippled from the provider. Some wap sites load just fine, while others come up time and time again with error messages like "Content not supported"

That's all I can say about this one, if your a kid and want a snappy looking phone and do not really care about call quality and durability then this one is for you. If your like me and want a reliable means to communicate then I would have to suggest to look for something else.
