terrible
pros: the keyboard
cons: where to begin? there is a program flaw, the service desk even told me so when i went in to complain that my phone was not working properly. and the phones made for us cell, were put together fast and horribly. screws have been missing in phones and the charge port comes loose for no reason.
this phone is fine if it isnt from us cell. but ive had it replaced 3 times, and now im having a problem again. i am so done with this phone.
i like it....
i've had my rumor for a little over 2 weeks, and so far i haven't had any big problems with it, but of coarse it might be too early to tell.
pros:
-good design
-love the keyboard
-micro sd slot(up to 4 GB)
-not quite as bulky as i thought
-variety of colors(depending on your carrier, i've got green)
-pretty durable, i've already dropped it twice
-easy to figure ou-slider is not loose or hard to open
cons:
-can't set mp3 songs for ringtones
-camera messes up occasionally(so far only once for me but i've heard it happens often)
that's about it. i haven't had any experience with the internet, but some are saying it's pretty slow. i've never had it randomly shut off or have any glitches either.

Pros: Phone is nic to text on. It is slim and fashionable, too. Has nice LCD screen. Also has nice messaging ablities.
Cons: Can't keep up you if you are a fast typer. Bad ringtones (heavan forbid). White gets dirty easily.
I bought this phone in mid September. The screen broke in the beginning of December. It was nice and fun to have but got dirty easily, too. Overall 3.0 over 5
Hate the phone
I have had this phone for about 5 months and have had nothing but trouble. Although it is great for texting the speaker volume is not loud enough. My phone always turns off when I slide it shut of even when it wants to even when I upgrade the "software" While haveing full service it will not tell me I have an incomming call and send the called to voicemail. All together I would not recommend this phone at all.
SO COOL....yet so simple!! LG did good on this phone!!!
I gave this phone a 5 star for it's looks, fun colors, Qwerty keyboard (of course), and the way it feels in hand! I have only good to say about my alltel lg scoops. Which is why I ended up buying it in 3 different colors.
I bought the "icy blue" scoop in early spring, 2008, and liked it all the way around. shortly after buying the blue scoop, i noticed they had added the beautiful purple scoop and I just had to have it....so I paid FULL PRICE (only $220.00) to purchase it. by summer, I decided that the orange was eye catching too, so I got it as well! I figured that the 3 of them was plenty....now they have the red scoop! I havent bought it yetttt, but i really like the color, and why not get the 4th one??? However, I am waiting awhile to see if they come up in a pink... No way i could pass the pink up....IF they got it!!! My son had a new Lg wave, that he had gotten before I bought my first scoop. Once he saw the slate scoop, he pulled money from his savings, and bought it. He likes it better than his other phones.
PRO'S: QWERTY Keyboard, colors, auto lock keyboard (preventing accidental dialing), option to keep backlighting on, ease of use (never once looked at the manuaL), superfast textng without having to use qwertyboard. Reception has been just fine, I can have animated pics for wallpaper, can also use the shuffle pic feature for the wallpaper- luv that too! The price was right, even without a contract! shaped perfect in the hand, has a lot of accessories.
CONS: ive never liked open-faced phones- having to worry about screen getting busted, but a snap on case cover helps, as I have dropped my scoops plenty of times, and so far- so good.
I still carry a scoop on one of my 5 lines, and I like it as much as some of my newer phones, like my lg glimmer, lg rhythm,HTC-touch smartphone, and my Samsung delve. (all of which, I will be posting my reviews on here....as I get time, but they all rock....if you need to know before I have time to leave details on them
Broke teice in a year
My phone had one manufacturing defect after about 8 months. was completely unusable had to pay %50 to have it fixed even though it was a known problem. LG wants u to wait 15 business days not including shipping days if u want them to fix it for free. did i mention you get to pay for the shipping. 8 weeks after I replaced my first Rumor the charger port for the second phone came out. Another manufacturing defect. The phones are made cheeply and prroly and the customer service at sprint is bad and worse at LG. Never dealing with either company ever again. Do yourself a favor if u have to go with sprint at least don't get this phone. Customer service is dead.
Cheap/Uncustomizeable/Boring
I was excited to get this phone when I first saw it because of the keyboard and that you don't have to pay a monthly Internet fee with this phone unlike the blackberry's etc. So far in less then a year I have gone through a total of 3 of these phones!
The first one I bought when I got home I couldn't make or receive any calls at all! So I brought it back. The next one that I got I had for a while and about every hour I would look at my phone and it would shut off by itself! The letters on the buttons were also starting to wear off and the screen was very easy to scratch. I am looking for a new phone now because this one is boring and theres very little customizing that you can do on it.
Pros-
-The fact that it has a keyboard (Which is the only reason I still have it.)
Cons-
Screen scratches easy
Letters on buttons wear off
Camera is horrible. Worst camera I've ever seen on a phone
Caller ID Pictures are very small when someone calls and they show up
Only 2 themes on this phone
I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone! I am looking for a new phone!
Really Nice Phone!
Some things that I love about the phone is the full key pad!
I also love the camera as it takes very nice pictures, I just do not like the fact that it does not have zoom.
I really like the mp3 player, it works great!
This phone gets excellent battery life, and very strong signal Strength.
I love the feel of the phone, it is a little heavy but it just feels right :p
Some things I do not like are:
You cannot Zoom on the camera
You cannot do anything else while listening to music.
I also do not like the slow internet browser, but that is not too big of a deal.
The overal design of this phone is great, you cannot really beat this phone.
If you get this phone, try to get a micro Sd card around 2gb for it it will hold all your pictures, videos, and songs!
LG scoop purple
I had been wanting to switch phones for a while, I was using a razr for the last 2 years & wasnt happy with its features. After reading reviews for the last 2mths, I decided I wasnt getting a phone based soley on looks (after the razr fire). The most important features i wanted were good texting & ability to make my own music into ringtones..since you cant find much other than top 40 for paid ringtones. I wanted the turquoise..but the sent purple (i do love the color tho). The slide works very easy, the phone is smaller than i expected (good).im still getting used to texting, but so far its a breeze. And for those who drive and text, you can keep it closed & text the old way on the phone also. One thing im not happy with, i cant give each of my contacts their own text message ringtones..i can make it vibrate or pick a tone for all text messages..dissapointing..oh well.
Ive made my ringtones on ventones.com (free), they wont work if you have them text to you, so you need to use your browser,type in the ventone addy & it automatically dwnlds.Im waiting for my microsd card, cuz i can only fit 3 audios.I love how you can set the keypad lock to autolock after 5seconds,theres no games tho.mp3's & videos u can use.Battery life for me isnt too long as im in constant roam..i have alltel & live in CT., i pretend i live down south to get the plan..cuz alltel has the best plans ever.Reception is better than the razr,it feels comfy in my hand,very easy to navigate menus also.So far i really love this phone &im not a teenager..but a heavy texter..this phone is awesome for the serious texters & music junkies.Ive used the web browser, but its not something i would normally do..it works ok..i prefer a PC.The camera..no different than my razr,big deal,i didnt buy it to take pics.Id recommend this phone & i tried to answer the questions that i couldnt find in reading my reviews.
