Sep 7, 2008 by fcgb11

Alright, so when i saw the phone i actually thought it was pretty sweet because one of my friends had it and she said she really liked it. So of course I had to buy it, I spent $165 on this piece of garbage.

Pros- Qwerty Keyboard

Cons- Short Battery Life
Buttons dont work sometimes while texting
Picture Delay
Bad Reception, very hard to hear people talk even with speaker on
Cant use songs as ringtones

Do not waste your money

I heard all of the hype about this phone through advertisements as well as online. I bought one when they were fairly new. Overall, I hate this phone. It turns off whenever it wants to and may turn back on or you may have to turn it back on. It freezes all the time and tries to connect to the internet all the time on its own.

PROS: media player is ok

CONS: sound quality is horrible
text capacity at 160 characters (ridiculous)
freezes up
crashes daily
camera quality sucks
no flash so pics in dim light are orange

Overall, i wouldn't waste my time or money on this phone. It is too expensive for the quality that you get when you purchase it.

Ok so i got this phone for my birthday afew months ago and it was great at first texting was a breeze. Then after a couple of months the qwerty keyboard was sticking when i was texting and it was SO annoying. So here are my pros and cons

PROS
color (blue)
ringtones included
design

CONS
camera has big delay so I NEVER get my shot
keyboard its suppose to help but it sticks and slows me down
batter it SUCKS
and just about everything else.
Now in afew months I'm getting the chocolate 3 or voyager which are WAYY better phones. Overall I wouldn't reccomend it to a friend, or an enemy.

For a Sprint Vision based phone, I was very impressed with the "Rumor".

Pros:
-QWERTY keypad great for texters
-MicroSD slot for music and more memory.

Cons:
-LG's lack of quality control with the first few batches wasn't good, they recalled several thousand of them due to a problem with the software.
-Could use a better battery

Best phone I have seen

This phone is perfect for someone who isn't into something too high tech. It is very easy to use. I have been through my fair share of phones and this one has been my personal favorite. I bought this phone after I almost threw my Palm Treo through a window. The Treo was too high tech and had way too many features that I never used. So I decided to "downgrade" to a more user friendly phone and I couldn't be happier. This is also my first phone from LG. I usually go with Motorolla but and I will definatley be sticking with LG from now on. GREAT PHONE!

Pros:
*QWERTY Keyboard
*Fun colors (mine is Orange)
*Easy to use menu
*Ringtones are easy to download
*Seems virtually indestructable (I have dropped it so many times that if it were gonna break, it would have happened by now)
*Afforable

Cons:
*Sometimes text messages don't get sent/received (could be because of my provider; Alltel)
*No other complaints!

LG Scoop with Alltel

I was skeptical getting this phone at first. I don't have any need for a PDA phone, so I wouldn't go with one of those. But I did like the idea of a QWERTY keyboard; it seemed like a common middle to go with. So, when it came time for my upgrade, I got the slate grey Scoop.

Coming from Motorola for so long, I was a little wary. Would the signal be good enough? How would the battery hold out? (I text like a maniac so it's good to know these things.) So I took a deep breath, sat down, and began to learn the LG way of life.

Let me just say: The battery life is fantastic. I can go almost two days without having to recharge. That's with over 200 texts a day, not including incoming.

I like being able to change the font of the phone, but I'm sad that you only have three choices. Really just a cosmetic thing.

I love the T9 texting (when you don't use the keyboard) because it has a drop down menu to select which word you were trying to say - instead of having to shift like crazy in the middle of a word.

Right now, I live in the boondocks of Northern Louisiana. The reception where I currently live is amazing. I get 3 or 4 out of 5 bars, whereas my Motorola usually picked up 2, and on a good day it picked up 3. That was a surprise to me.

The interface is fairly easy to use, but it was a little difficult for me to remember where things were in the menu. Again, could just be me needing some memory enhancement pills.

It's loud, too, on both ends of the conversation. Big plus for me.

It doesn't hold a lot of text messages at all, and I constantly have to clean out my folders.

The camera has a long delay. Makes it hard to get pictures of my dogs because they move before the picture takes... long after I've pressed the button.

The speaker function is a little weak which makes it hard to hear. If you're somewhere completely quiet, you still have to listen hard.

All in all, though, great phone and absolutely worth considering.

don't buy this phone.

I'm not sure if it's the network in my region or the phone it's self but I'm not happy with this device at all. I finally got Asurion to replace it with something else (we'll see how that one works out). I always have to power-cycle the phone before I can get a text to go through. The instant messaging clients that are pre-installed don't function well. I receive messages late, or no one gets my messages.

I love the idea of this phone, but LG did a poor job in executing this idea.

pros
-great for texting and emailing (when it'll work)
-sleek and stylish

cons
-applications lag a bit
-no flash on camera makes for poor picture quality
-text/e-mail function does not work for me. I usually have to power-cycle the phone in order to get these features to work at all.
-phone sometimes power-cycles its self.

Bad Phone

Reading some of the other reviews I guess I was lucky, I went through two of these in six months. The first one erased its own ESM on the 4th day I owned it, no one could explain how that would happen and it took over three weeks to get it replaced through Sprint! I got the second one right before Christmas and in the past month it started turning itself off randomly. This week the end button quit working, in order to hang up a call I had to resort to detaching the battery! After begging Sprint and Asurion (the insurance company) to replace it with a different phone for two days, I received my Samsung Upstage today. It takes some getting used to, I definitely miss the full keyboard, but if it lasts for more than 6 months it's a better phone than the Rumor!

Most Disappointing Phone I've Owned

I bought my first rumor end of November 2007 and really didn't like it. However, my son was in love with it because of the texting keyboard. I put it on his number and by end of March 2008, the screen was junk - the sliding open & closed had distorted the screen completely. My local Sprint store replaced it, and now, the first part of June 2008 the same thing is happening again. AND LG won't stand behind it, they know its a problem, but they won't do anything about it. So I'm forced into a differnet phone, which is fine with me, but my son is very disappointed. As a former Sprint store employee, there are tons of better quality phones out there - please stay away from this one. You will be sorry if you buy it.

I loved it!!!

This id the best phone ever. I don't know what poepl talking about the speaker being to low. For the music part. IF the volume of the song is low then it's not the phone's fault.
SO yeah gettin back to the subject.
I haven't used the internet yet but planning on because i got a full keyboard and not using the internet what is that??

I was going to get a black berry but found this one way better then the other one.
lol
=D
