There is definitely a way to make your own ringtones so you dont have to pay for them yourself. But first thing is you have to get a USB cable made for the phone in order to do it and at this time its not out to my understanding. Soon enough it will be and then the fun begins. Ringtones are just the begging

USB is available and yes bitpim does work, just choose the vx8500 as your phone in the settings for now. The 9900 isnt in there yet

Actually there is a way to do it however its more complicated than just making your own. Also it requires you to get into the programing of the phone and physically move files around, in turn you could mess your phone up and void the warranty. I would recomend finding a USB cable for the phone and then you can just make your own

you can send sound files from your computer to your phone as a pix message and then save the sound as a ringtone. "your #" @vzwpix.com is the email u want to use. make sure you use your area code too. hope this helps!

if the file is too big that may be the issue. i ran in to one where i sent 30 second song clips to my found and when i played them, they sounded horrible. im having others send me things to see what works n such. i looked at the phone memory on mine and it shows 30 megabytes total, but i have 15 megabytes free to still use. you may not be able to send an entire song. its just too big.

Ok so like i said b4 you need a cable for one, which is out. Once you have the cable you need BITPIM. dont worry its free. In the settings of bitpim you will need to choose the LGVX8500(the chocolate) as your phone, dont worry it works. At this time they have not updated it to show the 9900. Once the settings are correct you can make your own ringtones. Then you can open up any mp3 file that you have and you can cut any portion of the song, 30-45sec is more than enough, to make yourself a ringtone. Hope that helps.

I can't believe your question. I called Verizon just an hour ago to save the Train tone on My Sounds as a ringtone. She didn't know how but she said there must be a way because it's already on the phone. We experimented and it worked.

Go to My Sounds, select Sound you want as a ringtone, Create Pic Message, type your mobile #, Send.

You'll receive a Pic Message, press Options, Save As A Ringtone.

It's great!!! I love the Train sound because it's mellow and doesn't shock anyone if I forget to mute my phone. I spent 2 hours looking for a similar train sound but none exists.

if no pix messaging plan, one has to pay for receiving them from the same cell number
