yeah i was thinking of triband. trimode phones are basically going extinct with verizon. there are still some. but will eventually be gone.

yes the 9900 is all digital. its not just verizon that is getting away from tri-mode phones. everything is going all digital. the analog networks are being forced out by the FCC more towards 2008 and all carriers using analog have to update their networks per the FCC mandate to digital towers. there will be major changes in the cell phone world to come!

A common rule of thumb (at least for Sprint, not sure about VZW), if the phone is EV-DO, no analog.
