i just got a Kingston 2GB Micro SD card. I installed it and it works fine except that it is SO SLOW!

It refreshes pics in the index at about 1 per second. I cant press any buttons until that happens. Does anyone know if this is normal and how i can improve speed of the card? Thanks

What file size3 are your pictures at. For big sized files, the phone will take a second or so for the pictures to load. Other than that, I'm not exactly sure why. Hope this helps.

i have the phone set to the highest pic resolution. so maybe i just need to live with the fact that it takes some time.

What suprised me is that it is slower than the pics stored in the phone. i thought the mem card would be faster. dont know why i thought that.

No what happens is that since you're taking high resolution pictures, it definitely takes the memory card and the phone to read time to read those large files. Same thing for me as well. Try lowering the resolution down to 640x480. Stil a good settting for pictures so don't worry and the pictures will load up faster. that's what i've experienced. Try that and tell me what you think ok. Hope this helps.

not to sound like a jerk, but the enV 2 MegaPixel camera is pretty decent and to take pics at 640x480 (16% of 2MP) seems really silly.

2MP are worth printing.
640x480 are useless. I wouldnt even email someone a 640x480 picture.

I have a sandisk 2GB card and it only takes about 5 sconds to load about 80 pics off of the memory card, so either your memory card is very slow or something is wrong.

You could try buying a sandisk from bestbuy or somewhere and testing it out. you can always return it.

I definetly agree with Jfox on this one to be honest with you. Actually check and see if your software on your phone is the V2 software because that was one of the things that it fixed when you got it.The V1 software is very slow when it comes to loading your pictures. I would not use the kingston card that might be one of the reason why its reading it slow Verizon recommends that you only use Sandisk with their phones. the 2Gig card retails for about 50$ Just giving you the heads up also check your software this should help alot. Well i hope this helps let me know what you experience when you get all of this resolved.

Well i understand what you're saying. To be honest, i do take bigger resolution pictures, but i usually do keep it on that setting. i currently have 290 pictures on my phone and like 90 video clips. And even for me with the amount of pictures my phone has, it takes a couple seconds for it to load up no big deall. And i also have version 2 software which i love especially for the default memeory card option for taking pictures. Helps me out so much.

I hear you, yea the thing is dont get me wrong it will take a sec to load up but normally all my pics are high res some even bigger than what my camera can take on the enV because of my added pics from my computer but the V2 software helped out alot on the loading time and i love the 4 gig option and the default card setting i agree 🙂 i have about 430 pics 110vids and rest music and sounds and i still have 290mb left on the card and it loads up pretty well within 3 sec i have the page of pictures load up for viewing i use the sandisk and the v2 software when i had the V1 software my pictures took about 6-7 sec to load up a page of pics because they are high res and i had a high volume of my storage space taken i guess try it out and see how...

😲 Oh my god. lol. What sized card do you have? Right now I hae a 2 gig card and it's more than enough space than i need. haha. I do agree taht the phone memory card option is aweseome and now the phone can support 4 gigs which iscrazy. I have about 160 MP3 files, 290 pictures, and 100 video clips and that's using a little less than half my memory. that's it and everything loads up perfectyl well I love it. All of my pictures are at the nnormal resolutoin although I have messed around with the resolugiotio by maxing it out. It's nice but for mosgt of my pictures, i don't always need to do it. Version 2 software is awesome though! Do you like the custom ringers you can make for the phone as well? IT's really quite nice!
