I've just purchased the phone and the only 2 tricks I found so far were the message reading and the phone call reading (when some one calls it tells you who calls)...however are there any other tricks??? And is there a way to get free ringtones?

Thanks... 🙂

Free ringtones. of course. 😁

For ringtones: using any email service, send an email to "your10digitnumber@vzwpix.com" and add an mp3's that is around 250kb in file size (~30 sec length) as an attachment to the email. Once you receive the SMS message on your phone, you can select "save as ringtone" and voila! it shows up as a ringtone in your phone.
there is a big discussion about it at HoFo

Do you have a MicroSD card yet?
Once you have that, you can put music, movies, backgrounds and more on the card. 🤤

One of the things I've always been wondering about for the V and enV was how to get movies on the phone. I have the 2 gig Micro SD SanDisk and I've got a lot of space. What's the easiest simplist way of doing this because id' really like to be able to put movies onto my phone. Thanks in advance for the help and yes, i've already been to howardforums.com and that websites directions are very hard to understand which is why I've never been able to do it yet. Thanks again.

Download the latest version of SUPER here
http://updat3.free.fr/9ABEA26CD500112298DB54FF/SUPER ... »
Drag and drop your favorite video file (Tv-show, movie, etc..) into the SUPER program (.AVI, .mpg or .qt for best results)
Select .3gp (sony ericsson) as the output container (do not change the next 2 (mpeg-4 & AAC)
Select 320:240 as the video scale size
Select 4:3 aspect
Select 15fps for the frame rate
Select at least 128kbps as the video bitrate, do not select "use direct show"
Do not select "3gp v4/v5"
Select 22500, 2 channel, 96kbps bitrate for the audio
Click on the "encode" button
The resultant file should show up in your C: drive as a .3gp video
When your video is encoded, try opening it with quicktime to see if it plays...

Ok, I know this is going to sound annoying, but as with everything else, i did downoad the program but It's very confusing on how to use it. There's got to be a much more simple way to get movies and video onto the enV. lol. In my opinion, this has got to be one of the hardest things about phone. Thanks for any additinal help and sorry. It's just very annoying and frustrating for me.

A really easy way is to search on your favorite p2p application (BT, Limewire, etc...) for ".3gp" you may find what you are looking for already encoded for your phone available for download. Sure it's illegal (I think 👀 ) but you did ask for the Easiest way! 😈

Hhaha thanks for the tip. Another easy way would be to upload the video to Mobile17.com because they keey on saying "Coming Soon" you'll be able to upload video and the website will compress it for you in 3GP format for your phone however, I don't know how soon that will be happening which is the annoying part, If anyone knows any other easy ways, please let me know. Thanks.

I've done everything described above and everything works except for one thing... once I've saved the file onto "my_flix" and insert the sd card into my phone I check and it begins initializing - then it freezes. Only thing I can do is to take the battery out and start over.
Is this a common problem? And is there a way to fix it?
Thanks in advance 😁

This happens every once in a while to me when I accidentally put a corrupt video, picture or music file on my enV. 👀 I would suggest simply getting rid of the file off your microSD card and trying a different copy.
If this is happening with videos you are encoding, make sure the settings are exactly as described. Something as simple as having ".3gp-v.04/v.05" selected can lead to a bad encode and the file may cause your phone to freeze. 😳

I found this really cool web sight. myxertones.com All you have to do is put in your number, and select the verizon button, then the phone you have. Once you get all that done you can either choose from songs that are already on this sight or choose any song you have in your mymusic of your computer. There is even an option so you can customize the song you choose. Its pretty cool I have made songs up to 45sec. Then when you are done it will send it to your phone in a text. When you open the text just save it as a ringtone and you will have yourself a ringtone. Best part is that its FREE!!!!! Some people charge for their tones so just look at it before you hit it if you are going to pick one that is already there.

I suggest savin...
