I can only wish sprint, but with my luck there's no chance in hell of that happening...

It's certainly not too late to see the feature list modified, but generally speaking, CDMA + Java = Sprint.

I would be SO happy if Sprint carried this phone...I love Sprint and their service, but their phone selection is HORRIBLE.

Verizon is getting some Nokias and I know that Verizon supports CDMA, but what other signs should I look for that would tell me if a phone would be supported or not supported by Verizon? Examples, Java...Is that not Verizon? Okay, what is? What isn't...give me some signs!

Trying to figure out if this phone could be Verizon...and others in the future,

Thanks 😁

This phone is guaranteed not going to Verizon. It uses Java while Verizon, who is contractually obligated to the game manufacturers who make their Get It Now games, uses BREW. So there's your tip: BREW - probably VZW, Java - probably NOT VZW.

Sometimes you'll see a phone that has both Java and BREW listed in the specs. Those are sometimes up in the air and will be anyone's guess. I really would like to see some more Nokias in VZW's selection. They're fantastic phones.

It's rumored that Nokia gave Verizon's CEO this phone to try out and he loved it so says the Nokia rep who visited my store two weeks ago. I work at a consumer electronics store that sells wireless, including VZW. It is likely that this phone will see a release on VZW's network, however, you can count on the Bluetooth to be crippled. 😛

Thanks fellas...I like the Nokia's and the idea of simplicity and they both seem to be a perfect match for my next phone.

Well, we have to take into consideration the regional carriers. Alltel, MetroPCS, Cricket and others are all CDMA and also use Java. They could very well take this phone, too. Much like the 6255i, only the regionals may take this phone.

I think alltel has a greater shot than sprint or metro pcs. they are too small of companies to support a phone of this caliber. My bet is with sprint.

I hate to burst your bubble, but going by the specs, it probably isn't going to VZW, at least not in this configuration and not anytime soon. This phone has full Java capabilities and nothing on BREW which is what VZW uses. I'm hoping in the future we'll see it because, damn, that's a nice phone, but it won't be for a while yet and it'll have an "i" at the end of the model number. 😁

one thing to keep in mind with nokia is the fact that it is still a java app with a brew shell over the top....that is one reason why not as many brew apps are designed to work on the nokia phones....

Dammit, I just re-read your post. Nevermind. I see you already took the whole BREW thing into consideration. I apologize! 🤭

I was just browsing through some old news articles about this phone and I came across this tidbit of information.

"The Nokia 6265 supports other forms of entertainment content, including 15 frame per second streaming video and downloadable BREW 3.1 or Java 3D applications."

BREW: Verizon
Java: Sprint

When it comes out is anyone's guess

But then again I dont know where all the other random websites got word of Brew 3.1 from - This link confuses me! I hope we hear more about this phone soon!

On Nokia's website it says the phone will support brew. So does that mean it's coming to Verizon?
