Cingular W600i unlocked?

Can someone who owns the Cingular W600i put a non-Cingular SIM card in it and see if it works?

I havent done this and i dont have a different SIM card or i would but the other phones i have tried before by cingular have been.

Cingular used to unlock all their GSM phones, but around the time they absorbed AT&T their policy seemed to have changed...

If anyone would try this with their W600i, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I found out from our Cingular rep that Cingular now locks all their phones. Never mind. 😡

Cingular locks their phones but if you call you can get them to unlock it for you after a specified length of time. 90 days I think.
