Samsung SCH-A950
SCH-A950 weight vs. VX-8100 weight
I compared these two phones in the store today and was surprised how similar they are. When it comes to the weight, the 950 is listed at 4.55 oz and the VX-8100 at 4.16 oz. But when I held them in my hand, the Samsung didn't seem any heavier than the LG. I heard that phone weight is not always measured in a consistent way. Any thoughts?

Well, keep in mind that the difference is only .39 of an ounce, which is very minimal, I have mine coming in tomorrow and will let you know what my observations are.

Your right, that isn't much and it's so close that when I looked at the 950 I thought it felt lighter than the 8100, but in fact, it's not.

To me there is no perceptible difference in weight.
The 950 does feel smaller in the hand. I think this is so because it lacks an external antenna.
The buttons and dial on the front seem cheap and flimsy to me.
The 8100 just feels "healthier" and more rugged.. it's rock solid!
I happen to like the red color of the 950, but for me, that's about where it ends... it's not enough to sway me!!
