Hey,

It does show the song name and volume bars on the outside screen when you play the songs from the gallery. (Gallery >> Tracks) But if you use the music player to play the songs, it doesnt show the details on the outside screen. Also, when u play the tracks from the gallery, you can use the joystick to change the volume while it is in closed mode.
