4/5 Stars

Features/Function

(+)
RF gain gets a B+. Touching the labelled part of the phone DOES inhibit signal strength.
!Speakerphone as good as Moto (/clap).
3D games way cool.
MicroSD hot-swappable.

(-)
!Verizon EVDO menu designers need to be fired, right now.
OS delay impedes fast button pressing.
Moving multimedia from phone to SD doesn't have tag option for group transport.
Answer while closed needs to auto-enable speaker option.
Phone doesn't auto-format needed folders on SD.
Speed dial 1 cannot be changed. (voicemail only)
Schedule symbol always on if future event is scheduled. (maybe on just the day would be better)
Outside LCD could use more resolution/smaller writing while viewing texts. Pictures are so so.

excellant review!!! are you going to keep it??? a couple of quick questions,
1 can you still email pics to the phone?
2 did you say you can view pics and text from front screen with lid closed???
3 can you download songs or ringers from a memory card using a mini usb??
4 can you answer a call when the lid is closed??
5 when you voice text, do you say all the words and it writes it down for you on the screen???
6 do you have a belt clip yet or a usb cord??
thanks for all the answers.

*Yes I'm keeping it. 🙂

1) ? Someone else needs to help on that.
2) Only Picture IDs and background for pics. Standard mms texts you can read. Music keys scroll through the text.
3) Those two components don't make much sense to me being used together. I'd imagine if Bitpim would work with this phone (maybe it does?) you can take the music you download from the dedicated portion of the memory of the phone, if you knew where to look. Using a usb adapter that is.
4) You can answer the phone call by holding the play key, but if you don't have it in speakerphone mode it will only use the ear receiver.
5) Yes, that is how voice texting works. Has another neeto feature that after you complete a sentence, it has a logic function to correct a ...

Couple of questions: No mention of Bluetooth or Voice Command.
1- What version Bluetooth, 1.1 or 1.2?
Bluetooth horrible after update, Scala 500 won't stay connected and Moto 850 breaking-up or static.

2- Voice recognition, as in 8100?
Excellent, but loses 'Please Say A' Command. All I get is last word. But right on the money 99%, call & digit.

3- Battery life?
Actual talk time less that an hour (all stand-by) and have to charge every 2 days. Don't use MP3 or V-Cast.

I do a lot of driving and more interested in BT and Voice Command. Specs on a950 almost identical to 8100, but with a lot less talk time.

1. No idea. But I DO sell the HS820+50 and they both are great with the phone....

Know how to adjust volume but what is 'speed as a slide bar for extra customization'? Never heard of it and what does it do?
