Is this phone not so popular anymore?
I have and love the 8100, but am always checking out the new phones when they come out and have been scoping out this forum. Doesn't look like anyone is talking much about it anymore. Is it not going to be so great afterall that everyone has given up talking about it or what?

I'm sure there is still interest in the phone but everyone is tired of Verizon doing the Curly shuffle. No one has said anything about the built-in MP3 player and everyone is concentrating on the camera. What if Verizon releases this phone with the player disabled also and won't release a "software" update for some time? I have an 8100 but dealing with Verizon is just plain aggravating, not the cust reps, the sales reps or the tech reps but Verizon themselves.

Mary - it's only been released by Best Buy and only a few phones were delivered to selected stores - meaning very few people actually have this phone. I agree that the interest is waning but to be fair we need to wait till October 18 and the official Verizon release and then we'll have a better idea on how good/bad this phone actually is.

Also, everyone might be turning their heads to the LG VX-9800 now. My personsal opinion is that the 9800 is going to draw the attention away from the Samsung cause the 9800 will turn heads.

The phone needs a real launch date, and the ability to actually give a "review" per phonescoop before people can actually get a good feel of it.
IMO the phone will not have strong reviews, even with software enhancements and possible mods.

Before the 8100 was released there was so much talk about it, the release, the features, etc. Just doesn't seem like many are talking about this one.

Well, this phone is too "odd ball-ish" with the swivel screen and the side-mounted camera. It departs too far from the norm to catch on. It's too far out in left field, imho.

I saw this phone in Best Buy yesterday and I wasn't impressed at all, esp with the huge camera and flash "gun" mounted on the side.
I was looking forward to this phone but now with the 9800 and CDMA RAZR coming out, I've lost interest.
The other thing, is that perhaps people are getting leery about buying a Verizon phone and then having to wait 6 months or so for them to fix the software bugs.
