I tested this phone out 8/29
ok so i went to Best Buy Paramus, and gave this puppy a test drive.. i drove 45 minutes out of my way to do this, and was fully intending to buy the phone despite the 350 dollar price tag...but alas,, i held back. The phone has alot to offer,, true 2 megapixel, really great cam and video...i was very impressed..but what bothered me, was the swivel. its kinda bothersome. feels a little awkward.. but really what stopped me buying it, is the earpiece volume.. it just doesnt get crisp and loud enough for me.. im spoiled by the lg7000...i really value a loud sounding phone..whether its in the car, or wherever, volume is good.. try comparing the two..thats why i returned my lg8100.. just too low..so Anyway i held off on the phone, and am still in ...

I looked at this phone yesterday at BestBuy in Long Island.
It was right next to the 815 and the 815 looks BIGGER!
What I'm not too sure about is the swivel screen-- to me it was wobbly, and moved fairly easily when you open the phone. It could end up being a nuisance!! 😕
The 8100 looks a little smaller and definitely looks and feels MORE SOLID!!
I did not get to operate the phone, though, since the battery had run down.

I own the phone and I believe the pros outweigh the cons, but I can also concur with what others are saying.
First off, I dont own a 7000 but I think the earpiece is loud enough. My .02 there.
Secondly, about the swivel, it definately took a little getting used to. I went from a 6100 which has one of the best hinges in my opinion, and you can look like James Bond when you open and close the phone (real quick-like, you know?). The 970 requires more care. I've adapted and can easily open and close it now, but took some time. I don't mind at all. About the swivel in general, it feels probably "as good as it could" considering that it pivots on the center and doesn't make you worry too much.
Other pros that you all may or may not ...
