E-815 charging

It may have been duscussed here before, but I can't find it.
My wife's e-815, even with the newest software, charges overnight and still shows one 'bar' during charging. Talk time is much less than when it was new. (9 month's old now)
I stopped by the store, which didn't have a battery tester, and they flashed the new software, suggesting that could help. (I doubt it)
This morning, it's still charging, one bar..
I know it's not the charger as we have 5 of them!
It could be either a tired battery, or a bad charging system in the phone. I'm going to buy a new battery and try that first.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
Also, what's the easiest way to transfer the pictures on the phone- no sd card yet.

OK, a short update. I bought a new battery at the VZW store, and also picked up a micro SD card.
I transferred all the pictures over, by selecting each and every one (use the zero key and the down rocker) then the menu and move to T flash.

The new battery seems to still only charge at one bar. When my wife runs it down, I'll see if It actually charges or not. My guess now is that it's the phone, and the only thing she will have to re-load are downloaded ringers.
(Thanks to micro SD and back up assistant.)

thats odd

most motos charge differently, they start at one bar and charge overnight to three
normally you should wait until the phone says charge complete, even though it might have 3 bars when you take it out. the software is probably wrong, but in case it isn't, you should try charging it longer

Yea,
I will leave it on the charger overnight.
It always did go to 3 bars WHEN PLUGGED IN and stop flashing. (overnight).. I pulled the battery and it showed 3.80 volts. I'm going to check it after charging for a while.
I need to make a decision whether to ask for an FRU tomorrow, since my wife needs it to go outta town early Friday.

I've had this happen before, but only one or two times. Try cleaning the contacts on the bottom of the phone.

The new battey charged properly.
After it gets cycled 5 or 6 times, I'll try the old one and clean the contacts again. Must be the charging circuitry in the old battery...
