Network or Phone Issue?

Verizon Tech Support has not been too much help on this issue, so I am hoping someone on the forum may have more experience, or similar issues. My voicemail is set up correctly with Verizon (goes to voicemail after about 6 rings), anyway:

I will get a call and pick up after 2-4 rings and my phone will say "connected" and even show the timer being used, yet I can say whatever I want to the supposed other person, but there is nothing but dead air. Soon, it will say "disconnected" or I will hang up, and if the person chose to leave one, I will have a new voicemail. I ask them if they heard me at all, and they said "no...it rang normall, then went to voicemail". This happens quite frequently on both this and my previous E815.

My old phone did this occasionally. I determined that it was poor reception at the time.

I'm going to ask you a really stupid question so bear with me (I've done this)-- you're not using a bluetooth headset are you (or around one that is syched with the phone)? The only reason I ask is that I have stuck my Jabra is my pocket and when the phone rang forgot about the headset and tried to answer it the normal way. I couldn't hear the other party and they couldn't hear me but had to leave a voicemail.

no bluetooth or headset involved at the time.

VZW told me the signal was weak enough for it to not ring but instead go to voicemail. sometimes it started as a ring but as the signal deteriorated went to voicemail before I answered.

It sounded reasonable to me because I was in fact in a low rf area (low signal strength) suring those times.

Also no bluetooth or headset involved here. Only difference Sammy, is that this happens in areas even where I have 4 or 5 bars of signal strength and full EV-DO. Not just one location, but all over the place.

The phone seems to almost be slow when I answer it which may cause the problem. For instance, I have my handset set to anser when ...

I would not waste any time and replace the phone with another e815. My 815 works great as obviously do most of them out there (based on reviews and the forum). Your 815 is still under the first year warranty - take advantage of it. the sooner you trade it in for another the better chance you have of receiving a brand new one versus a refurbished one (not that this wold necessarily be a problem).

Nope....definitely have the headset off and farther than 30 feet from the phone.

I DID do the same thing as you though once. 🤭
