E815 blows more than a $3 hooker
I love my E815, except for the echo problem.
My E815 causes an extreme echo to the person who calls me when I have it connected to my wife's truck using the Bluetooth portion of her Nokia CK-7W car kit (wired and Bluetooth kit). When she has her non-BT Nokia 3588i in the cradle, there is no echo on the caller's end or on our end. If we pop out her phone and hook up mine via BT, the caller gets a strong echo back of every word said. I hear a slight echo on my end of every few words, but not the whole conversation.
I went to a cellular repair shop and the tech told me that Bluetooth, when used with a CDMA syst...

OK. Now I have your attention. I posted this question twice before and no one answered, so I thought I would try a catchy title.

I was hoping to get an answer to the questions regarding the differences between BT on CDMA vs. GSM systems. Someone out there must be familiar enough with GSM/CDMA and BT to answer those questions.
I thought it was nuts to say that Bluetooth on a GSM system cannot transfer data, but he insisted that is true. He also insisted that BT over GSM does not have echo problems, whereas BT on CDMA will echo, due to using only half the BT bandwidth for voice and half for data.
As far as not having any idea how to fix the echo, several posters have stated that the EVRC change and opcode change WILL get rid of the echo. It did not work for me, though.

As far as swapping out the phone, this is my fourth one and they all had the problem.
In fact, this thing echoes back at me when using a CORDED headset, if hte volume is turned up past 4 on the phone. It CANNOT be a feedback problem, since the earpiece and mic are completely isolated from each other (big foam earpiece insulator pressed tightly against my head).

This phone even echoes with a wired headset, so it is not feedback between mic and speaker. It only does it when the volume is turned up past four.
As I said, this phone echoes even with a wired headset when the volume is up past four.
Any truth to the "...Bluetooth, when used with a CDMA system, allocates half the BT bandwidth to data and half to voice. He claims that is what makes the BT echo on CDMA systems. He said that BT and GSM together do not echo..." claim by the tech I mentioned?
