verizon 'network unavailable' message

hoops

i seem to get an inordinate number of "network unavailable. Please try again later" when i try to access yahoo email/internet/etc on the e815. I'm in a major (NY) metro area and have experienced this all over the place. i estimate i get access 1 in 10 tries.

i've called verizon and the service reps don't have much to say. i believe the problem started after i cancelled the intro comeon for vcast and changed to the $5 plan for net access (can't recall what they call it). i did a #228, but that didn't help.

any ideas/suggestions? thanks

I've as well had this problem. I'm in the Cleveland, OH area and in an EVDO area as well. For the past two weeks whenever I have tried to access VCast or Mobile Web it said network unavailible. I didn't check with Verizon, as it was a free trial month so it wasn't a big deal, but if I get it in the future I'd like to know why it's doing this. Ideas, anyone?

When I cancelled the free trial of V-cast, I signed up for the $5.00 web plan. When I got home from the Verizon store, I started receiving the same message as you are getting when trying to access the web. I called Verizon customer service and when the rep looked, she noticed that 2 other items were deleted when V-cast was deleted. I don't remember what they were but she said I needed them to access the web. She put the 2 files back in the system and when I rebooted my phone I was able to access the web. Never had the problem since. Sorry I don't remember the names of the files, but they should see that they are missing when you call. Good luck

CHECK YOUR BILL and make sure they weren't charging you for the wrong thing. This has happened for like 4 months in a row now. This month i was on the phone with a verizon supervisor (because of billing probs) and she told me that they didn't know how to bill v-cast phones, and were just improv-ing it. The "two things" that someone else was talking about in this message is what they don't understand how/or to do this.

The network broken message is what i get whenever verizon disables my txt and pix/flix, and it doesn't go away until i call them and they re-activate my messages. They somehow disable it every month, after i call them with billing problems (its a viscous cycle thats going on since may). 🙄

BTW does #228 actually ...
