Hey all,

I wanted to know if anyone picked up a logitech bluetooth headset (the black freedom device with BT v1.2).....is anyone other than me having this issue of an echo being heard on the other side. Everything is fine on my end, but everyone I talk to says they are hearing an echo. Any help or advice is appreciated. Thanks

I have the Motorola HS850 with my new e815 and people are complaining to me about the same problem. They also complained to me about it when I used my HS850 with my V710. But for some reason, when I use the same HS850 with my Cingular RAZR, I don't have the problem. I can't figure out what the issue is with VZW phones and bluetooth headsets.

That is ssooo odd. Well see I just tried something and noticed what it is doing. The motorola phone is PICKING UP the voice of me AND the logitech headset. Then when the person responds.....two mic's are coming across to that person. It is hard to understand, but they are getting the problem and not me. Is the lg like this? God I wonder....this thing is going RIGHT back if that is true.

It is not a hardware phone issue. When the headset is connected, no sound comes out of the speaker on the phone.

It is a software issue.

Well I think I figured it out. The louder I had the volume on the BT headset, the bigger the echo was on the other person's phone. I now know that it is that the mic is so powerful that it is picking up the person's voice when they talk and relaying it back to them on their phone. This stinks....product return.

I am having problems with people hearing a echo when I use a logitech plug-in headset, and my voice coming across garbled like the teachers and parents on Charlie Brown with Bluetooth and talking into the phone directly

Yea that stinks. I am going to purchase the Jabra BT250. It looks solid, got good reviews on amazon and cnet, and the boom mic is not near the headset.

The Jabra BT250 is horrible. I tried it for 2 days, and took it back immediately. It is very choppy and static filled. Go with a motorola. I have not heard the echo complaints with the HS820 from motorola. But IMHO, Motorola makes the best BT headsets.

The problem is the E815 NOT the Logitech headset.
I proved this by switching between a Cingular 6230 Nokia and the 815.
No echo with Logitech and Nokia, real bad echo with 815....bye bye 815!

i am using a bluetrek g2 with volume maxed on phone and headset with no complaints from anyone. if you know where you can find one that you can try out. there are generic models of the g2 out there so be careful to get BLUETREK g2 only.

Dogg, I came to the same conclusion exactly after going through two e815s and 3 BT headsets. Same thing happens w/815 on spkrphone. To test it, all you have to do is turn down the volume a notch and the echo seems to go away. It's worse (for obvious reasons) if you're in an enclosed place (car.) Are you going to return the headset & keep the phone?

Yes the "obvious" reasons stink....the volume is so low...the purpose of the headset just fades from your mind. I am most definitely keeping the moto e815. I don't really understand nor care about all the complaints on this phone because frankly....it is the best phone purchase I have ever made. I truly found a phone FOR ONCE that I love and contains all the features I need. I am just going to return the headset and try the Jabra BT250. It got great reviews and it seems like a better choice because the headset is like an ear plug and fits directly in your ear so that the mic doesn't pick up this disturbance. You can always contact me at pharmachesst@netscape.net and I can tell you how the new headset is....well in a week (shipping take...
