Hi everyone,
I am a "newbie" on this forum and found this place to be extremely useful and full of great info. You guys are great!

I have a question. I just upgraded my verizon cell phones to E815 for me and my wife. I was told that v710 is not available anymore.

I should be receiving the phones by mail today or tomorrow. I did a lot of research and read many reviews and so far it looks like I'm going to love the phones. One thing that is bothering me though... I heard that E815 is a digital only phone. I use my phone in NY/NJ/PA area 99.9% of the time. Will I have problems?

My current phone is LG digital only service and I do not like it. Lately, it keeps dropping the calls once in a while. My wife's current phone is als...

The E815 is a very good all digital phone. I as well had a LG phone the VX 6100. That phone didn't work out for me it dropped a lot of calls and it bounced the signal bars around like a rubber ball. That phone was a tri-mode phone. This phone is 1000 times more reliable than that phone and has great reception has well i hope this helps out. I'm finding out that i like digital a lot more than tri mode its a lot more clearer and reliable i have the Motorola A840 Global phone which is all digital and that phone is very clear as well i don't think i could go back to tri-mode.

unless you are in the "boonies" you will probably never miss analog.

I also am contemplating this issue. I spend a fair amount of time around Lake George, NY where the reception is spotty at best. I am trying to decide between the v710 and the e815 on the basis of whether I need the analog or not.

Wow, you're in my back yard, I'm in Clifton Park. I just got an E815, so far I'm not regretting not having the analog, though I haven't made many calls with it. As far as reception goes, it's miles ahead of my T730 was. I don't have to move from my desk to make a call, vs. the 30 feet I needed to move for the T730 (I work in a metal building inside a metal manufacturing building which makes for terrible CDMA reception).

I had to go to the Circuit City on Washington Ave. Ext. in Albany to get mine. None of the corporate stores had the phone, or even an ETA for getting it. He had 2 left when I got there, but he had to exchange the first one he gave me, one of the keys didn't work.

100 miles from the nearest Vcast service but understand it's only in test markets right now. (may expand if found prodective for them)

Since E815 NO MORE LOST CALLS! OR POOR RECEPTION!

Call your VZW rep ot tech support and have them pinpoint the nearest towers for you in miles: Mine was 4 miles (range much further)

I live as far out in the boonies as one can get in a manner of speaking, and am on my second All-Digital wireless (other was LG).

Only one road near me that leads 7 miles to the interstate are there (short) pockets where there WAS no service before, haven't tried it out with E815 yet but i wouldn't be surprised if it holds signal as i read where this Moto holds a digital better than most they experienced before.
