Shado007

Morning all- well here is the latest in how do they manage to do this-- I went by my regular Verizon store today- to my regular phone dude- to get my 815-- news flash-- "we don't have any yet, its such a new phone I will have order it for you- it will be here Tuesday"

I cant really understand this but- thats the story- since the guy usually gives me a good discount on accessories, and the like I hate to just go to another store and try- so looks like Tuesday will be my new phone day- just have to see--

Thats messed up. Every Verizon store should have this phone by now. I think you are being fed a line and a half.

think you are being fed a line and a half.

Me, too- probably some way for the phone dude to make better commission- but since I posted I have ordered the phone and gotten a good deal on the HS850, from the guy-- I can live with it till Tuesday- but if out and about tomorrow I may quiz another corporate store and see if they have them-- the is good salesman, but bottom line I know he puts his commsissions before the customers, I just keep that mind when dealing with him.

Shado, where are you located? I've been to my local VZW store twice in the last week. I called the AM of each visit and was told on the phone that I could order the 815 through them.

When I got there the first time, the girl had never heard of the 815 and proceeded to tell me, after I said it was supposed to be a national release that day, that they had no ETA on the phone, and that CC and other stores typically get new phones before the corporate stores. My local store didn't even have a display phone available.

The second time, the guy actually showed me there were ZERO in the warehouse, and that he couldn't order it with a 0 quantity in the warehouse. His info said that the release is supposed to be Monday. He's all but compl...

I ordered mine through 611 with eligible upgrade last Wed. and received phone yesterday. The retail stores are not being helpful or guiding customers in the right direction! My local Circuit City had 15 E815's when I went to check out phone last Thurs.

why would he not sell it to you if he had it right then. Especially if you think he is so concerned with his commissions? Trust me, your not as important to him as you think you are

Never did- hence why I said commissions come before customers-- I regard most of the cell sales folks the same as used car salesmen (no offense to car sales folks on line) and a few other groups who I will not go into on an open post--

I got the same run around today as well.

Tried two local circuit city's - neither had them in stock.

Called local verizon store - not in stock.

Called national verizone store - none in stock, couldn't even take my order.

I can't order on-line for some reason. I used my new every 2 on a v710 which came broken. I returned it, and since then I have been able to log in to and have been told to call customer service (and of course they have no idea how to fix it and cannot give me the on-line deals unless I actually log in on-line.)

This sucks.

I may just switch carriers at this point I'm so frustrated with how I'm being treated.

Give me the &%^&*&( phone.

I called our verizon store just a few minutes ago and was told that verizon is NOT shipping anymore E815s at the moment because they have been "quarantined" I asked what that meant, and he said verizon is having problems with the video feature and they have to fix it before they will sell anymore of the phones. He didn't know when they would start sellinig again. I am in NC. Has anyone else heard this?

I've been trying to buy two 815s all day and have been given tremendous run-around.

Tried two local circuit city's - neither had them in stock. One guy claimed they were not released when I was at the shop looking at one earlier in the week. He got quiet then. One store just didn't pick up the phone all afternoon and I called another department only to find out that the guy at the verizon kiosk decided not to pick up the phone today.

This is why dealing with verizon is like being stuck in the 7th circle of hell.

To answer your question. Only the Large stores in the Vcast/broadband area were shipped the phones to sell at the retail stores. All other small stores and stores in non-vcast areas were not shipped the phones and are order only.

even stores in evdo areas are having trouble getting the phones. my store sold through our first shipment in 2 or 3 days. we made a special order to get more and are almost sold out again. moto just hasn't made enough yet. they seem to have rushed this release and screwed up a few things. the quarantine is due to a software issue. again, a moto screw-up. they didn't load the vcast software into some of the phones. some have it, some don't. they're supposed to release a software upgrade sometime this week to fix this. just speculation but i think moto was just trying to beat the 8100's to the stores. if that's true they're making out cause they've sold a ton in the last week.

So, can you buy the phone over the internet through verizonwireless.com and if you can will it have the software needed?

not 100% sure on that one. we're still selling them at the stores, we're just informing customers about the upcoming software upgrade and how it affects them until then. i'd hope they're only shipping non affected units from the web site.
