I'm interested in purchasing this phone and being stupid i was wondering what the data cable would do for me. I'm not into that whole seem edit thing cause i don't want to ruin a brand new phone but would a data cable allow me to send pix/flix to my computer?

Supposedly it should but I can't get it to work.

If anyone out there has a solution let me know.

I bought the cable. Installed the software and yet the computer does not recognize the phone.

HELP!

I have successfully linked my e815 with my laptop using bluetooth and the Mobile Phone Tools. I exported my contacts from Outlook and imported them into MPT and synced them. No seem edits or anything. Straight out of the box.

Well...

First, I paired my phone and laptop via bluetooth. This will vary depending on your bluetooth adapter but basically, go into bluetooth on your phone, tell it to Find Me! and then tell your computer to find new devices in bluetooth.

Then I opened Mobile Phone Tools and created a new bluetooth profile. Once I had the profile created and the phone screen showed up, I went to Menu -> Setup -> General Setup. I clicked on the communication tab, clicked change modem, selected Standard Modem over Bluetooth link then clicked next. It searched for the phone and said it found it but it wasnt identifyable so I just told it to use the v710m. Then I closed and reopened MPT and it worked like a charm! Let me know if you have any questio...

Obviously the Verizon is not educating its service people. I was all set to order this phone today and they (the technical support people) told me that the e815 would not have a mobile office kit and that you would not be able to sych the phone with computer. They told me that all the phone would be able to do is have the bluetooth headset and you would be able to watch bs trailers. The mobile office kit was not even listed as an available accessory for the phone. Needless to say I was pissed. So let me get to my quesitons...

Where did you get your phone (like a VZ store or Radio Shack)? Did you purchase a new mobile office kit or did you just use the one you had from your v710? Is there anyway that with all the "updating" that yo...

Here's the part on that page that confuses me. Here's an excerpt from the site:

"Upgrades Available - if you have already purchased a previous version of Mobile PhoneTools, an upgrade to the latest version of software is available online at... http://www.bvrp.com/customers/motorola/upgrad e/US at no additional charge."

I go to that link and it's only for PURCHASING the software, there's nothing for the upgrade. I get to the same place when I try to upgrade from within the software.

Make sure you have registered MPT. I had to register mine before that option showed up in the application.

I got it now, thanks. Now to order the phone at my local store (getting the free V265 upgrade for another line on my plan) and wait for it to arrive. The store doesn't carry the E815 (no EvDO in my area yet), and you can't do multiple upgrades in one online purchase...
