So, let's go through a full listing of known issues, and let's see if I can't get straight whether this is better or worse than the v710.

Though since you're using it for a ringtone and not like playing the mp3 off a transflash card, you don't want a full song, and more like a short clip that can loop properly.

Summary - for those of us that go way back with Motorola... V710 is to E815 as T720 is to T730... That is, same phone, cosmetic changes... Updated software...
Not Quite. There wasn't a major upgrade from the T720 to T730 as the EVDO is from the V710 to the E815.

Bluetooth: v710 wins. Even as crippled as it is, there are hacks to fix it, and it can still be used for mp3 transfer and DUN and such. With the e815, the total majesty that is Bluetooth is reduced to... the wireless headset.....

Also, good to know on some of those clarifications. For the record, I was not claiming the v710s BT profile worked out of box, merely that the hacks to fix it exist atm.
So, as it stands, the e815 only Really loses atm in the lack of a workaround as of yet to reenable DUN, which it seems like they might have somethin...
