TF Card

Now, I have been here for a while reading on everything about this phone and I'm basically all set on getting it when my contract goes up on the 16th. Now, I hear that Verizon has crippled the TF card, but to what extent? Can I put mp3, pictures, movies, etc. on it? If not, what can be put on it? If I'm spending the money to get a new phone and a TF card, I need to know what I can and cannot do with the phone. Thanks.

Fraom what I understand, VZW is not allowing ring tones to be transfered from the tf card to the phone's internal memory. You could listen to mp3s straight from the tf card though. I haven't tried to transfer ring tones myself yet, but I did listen to mp3s from the tf card earlier today.

How do you listen to MP3s? I just bought the phone, I bought the TF memory card, but there aren;t really any directions from VZW on how to set all this up....i.e. What do I use to listen to the music?--I don't see a jack to plug in headphones???

I'm not an idiot--I'm pretty tech savvy and can follow instructions if someone would be kind enough to walk me through this a little bit....All I'm concerned about is being able to listen to music on my cell phone, I just need some help here please, I really appreciate it???

Thanks.

Format your tf card using your e815 (go to phone info, storage, hightlight tf card and press the menu button, then press format).
Then save some mp3s on your ...

You can copy mp3s (with the file extensions changed to .mid) no larger than 250k to your TF card, then send a PIX message to a non-working email address with the file inserted. While the message won't go through, the file is then embedded within the message in the Outbox. From there, you can then save the file onto the internal phone memory and use the song fragment as a ringer.

You do not need to change the file name. You can leave it as mp3 and it still works.

I saw a TF card on Motorola's website with 512 Mb of memory. Anyone know if this will work with my E815?
Thanks.

for what is is worth....i have put some hefty size Mp3's onto my transflash card, a few MB each. they play beautifull with the phone. and i also load short Mp3 clips (with .mp3 extension, not MID) onto the transflash card, use the send to a bogus # (like 222-2222) and then save it as a ringtone. i have never changed the extension, but i know that works for others...maybe my phone is special. 🙂 as far as i know, verizon did not cripple the TF card....i love it....

I know this sounds very stupid but I am pretty new to this transflash thing. I just bought one yesterday and put the small transflash card into the phone. My question is to upload say Mp3's to the card whatr do I have to do? I don't have an ports in my comp to put the card into...what can I do?

my comp. has a SD slot in the front of it. if you have no digital media slots, then get a cheap SD reader for your comp (i think SD reader, can someone verify that?). then you can copy Mp3's to the card, put the card back in the phone, and listen to mp3's, transfer mp3's as ringtones, transfer pictures and both ways (and transer your videos too)....

Proto I didn't ask where I can get the card, as I already have the Sandisk 256MB transflash card but I don't have any ports on my comp to upload MP3's and pics on the card. So I asked if there are any card readers and I found some. Thanks anyway
