First off I would like to say that I love the screen and the menus are great with fast response time. I was very excited to get this phone.

I am currently a AT&T/Cingular customer and I am still on the $99 unlimited plan. My plan was to keep my AT&T plan and my phone (motorola V600) and add a Verizon phone so that I could make calls in areas where my AT&T phone doesn't work becuase usually one will work where the other one doesn't.

So I waited and waited and waited until yesterday. I went into Circuit Silly and bought the phone. I started to use it and the sound quality was pretty good. I was talking on the phone on the way home and as soon as I pull into my driveway the phone disconnects. I go upstairs and I still have no reception. I...

Your phone is quite obviously defective, return it and get a replacement, it was just released, with new technology there are bound to be some bugs in the software..not all of these phones are bad.

I don't think that exchanging the phone is going to improve my signal strength. I shouldn't have to exchange the phone, Verizon should have tested the phone better before releasing it IMO.

I just don't want to deal with the hassle of going into the store every week and exchanging phones. I don't have time for that.

I totally understand that it's new technology but when I have zero signal at home I don't think that a software upgrade is going to fix it and even if it doesn't I don't want to take a chance and then get locked in a 2 year contract.

I am curious. Is your AT&T phone on analog at your house and that is why it has a signal, or is it on digital and still getting a signal?

Right now it's on analog I believe because it says "Cingular" at the top not "Cigular Wireless" like it does at other times.

I believe "Cingular" is analog and "Cingular Wireless" is digital.

That's why I say this phone is disappointing, they did away with the tri-mode and now I will have to return it.

*18 updates your phone to the "market" you are in.

between *228 and *18 your digital should be the best it could be!

You have no analog at all. You are using GSM which doesn't support analog. You may be switching between AT&T towers and Cingular towers explaining the different banners on the phone screen. So don't say a phone is disappointing when you don't really know the facts anyways.

Wait what are you talking about. Verizon runs purely on a CDMA network...I believe that is why people are complaining about the analog feature.

If the phone doesn't work at my house I consider it a POS. What good is a phone if you can't make and receive calls with it? To me that's a POS.

I don't care if the phone is CDMA, TDMA, GSM, etc. The Verizon phone service doesn't work at my house but Cingular does. Verizon is disappointing and so was the phone. It had very poor sound quality and the battery life sucked. I am sticking with my V600.

Cingular = you're using an old ATT tower
Cingular Wireless = Cingular.

Verizon should test each individual phone? Are you joking?

As far as analog goes, it's being removed by the FCC in a year or so. Soon all the trimode phones will be pointless anyway.

There will never be a V-Cast phone with analog anyway.

Please!!!! What were you expecting? Everyone that knows anything about the 710 and the 815 will tell you that your expectations were set way to high. This is what you get for doing just that. You need to read the threads from people who know what they are talking about, not the newbies who haven't a clue on what they are getting. The 710, while truly outstanding, is not on the same level for many reasons. Here are a few.

815 has better voice dialing.
815 has equal speakerphone.
815 has much better keypad.
815 has a bigger battery.
815 has a better external display.
815 looks real nice and feels sturdier.
815 has a much better camera....you need to send pic's to the PC to see the difference and they are significant.
It has V-C...
