I visited one of the local Verizon stores today and asked the salesman about whether he has yet received the E815. He said it just arrived and he was in the process of unloading the box. Although he cannot sell them until July 5, he opened a box for me and let me examine one. From my cursory examination, I liked what I saw. Compared to the V710:
1. The keys were better laid out on the E815 than on the V710 and had that definite "click" when a number is punched, which is missing on the V710.
2. The charging port is the same as on the V710.
3. The phone felt very substantial and easy to hold in my hand. The keys were easy to use.
4. The phone is attractive and shaped nicely.
The salesman also confirmed that the VX8100 will be re...

did you find out if there was going to be anyway possible that you can use MP3's as a ringer instead of having to download ringers from those cheeeezy sites on get it now. Since we do have 40 megabytes of memory on the phone
...
No, I didn't get that detailed.
...
You can always get a transflash card and add memory to the phone and put MP3's on the transflash card and use them as ringtones.

Where would you have to have the transflash card in order to add the MP3s? Also, if my car is bluetooth enabled, do you think I really also need a bluetooth headset?
...
There is a small transflash card that goes into a adapter that goes into your computer to read. You put the smaller transflash card into the slot thats in the top of the phone that will make the phones memory expand. But you will need a transflash card reader as well if you don't have one. What you do is put the adapter with the transflash card into the computer and copy and paste the MP3's you want to the card than you put the card back in your phone and you can put play them in your phone. There are other steps you have to take like format the card and such but you do need to get confused until you decide if you want the card or not. You don't have to have a bluetooth headset if you have a bluetooth car kit...By the way how well do th...

I was concerned at first about the all digital nature of the newer CDMA phones being released, but then I did some searching around on Verizon's site, and asked some info of a rep in a store, and got an answer.
Apparently, the network is being set up to go all digital within 6 months, completely eliminating their analog network.
At first, I was predisposed towards a tri-mode phone, but having found out the above, I don't think you can go wrong getting an all digital, either.
Hope it helps.

For how weird this may sound but it seems like from my experience with my first all digital phone the Motorola A840 and from what other people are saying it seems like all digital phones are covering analog areas. Digital phones cover all sorts of areas whether you are in the middle of nowhere or in the middle of a big city. My friend went from Michigan to Florida and back for spring break with a all digital phone and service from Verizon and never lost signal or service or went into roaming. I am looking very forward to getting my E815 Tuesday after the manager at Circuit City was nice enough to bring one out at let me test one out today. Its a fast all around good phone. The only thing is that it still has the same old Motorola chargi...

why would they jack up the price?

Oldest trick in the book....Marketing !!!! Saying that to make people run out there and buy it...sadly many believe it. The price will not be raised, but will drop significantly in a few months.
