Circuit City

I called 3 Circuit Cities in NYC and they all have them but are not authorized to sell them, one store said July 3rd and the rest said that they did not know.

I called 4 Circuit Cities in NJ and 3 of them said they did not have it and 1 said they have it but are not authorized to sell it until the 5th.

I am about to throw my LG out the window.

I was just about to do a thread on this until i read yours. I just went into my local Circuit City store and they said they cant release it until the official release date of July 5th. He said thats whats in the computer. They don't even have a demo of the phone out or anything. He was even told by his district manager not to say anything about this phone but he still told me about the release date and such.

I wonder what Antio guy is thinking of himself now saying the phone would be out in August. Well bud, I went to Circuit City, guess what they had a demo. The guy did not even know how much they were selling it for. Thanks to this site, told him the price. That phone is much better than the v710. The keypad is good as well. a friend of mine who got the v710 is sending his back (within 15 day policy) to purchase this phone. I am glad I waited for this phone and not gotten the v710. He put his TF card in the demo and video played the same but the screen was little brighter than the v710. Sound was louder. Menu options is better than the v710 as well.

Yea, I am gonna go in to the store in NYC on the third and say to the idiot "You told me July 3rd". If he says the 5th I will be really mad.

I dropped my v710 in water about 3 weeks ago and have been holding off to get the e815.

Do you guys think I should get the v710 again and exchange for the e815 once its out?

I know, after 3 weeks, a few more days will not hurt, but I'm planning to go on a trip tomorrow. I would rather go with a phone in hand. I'm just afraid something could happen to the v710 before I exchange it for the e815.

Thanks for the input.

Its up to you it depends on how long your trip is. Some Circuit City stores will be releasing the phone on Sunday July 3, 2005 and the other Verizon stores are scheduled to release it on July 5, 2005. If you have insurance on the V710 phone it will cost you $50.00 or so to do a claim on your V710 and they will overnight it to you. But you need to do that right away. That will save you from having to buy a brand new V710 and exchanging it out. Plus you will always have a extra phone handy.

I'm trying to get phonescoop.com to put up the "User Review" tab so people can place their reviews for this phone but they said they cant at this time without the official release date without screwing up the system. So anyone who is willing to tell us the pros and cons they have with the phone i think we would all appreciate it.

I didn't have insurance on my v710 so I'm going to have to cough up the full retail price.

I decided to try to convince a Circuit City rep to sell me an e815 in NYC. If unsuccessful, I'll just buy...

No problem get the insurance for $4.99 i believe it is. It covers all the accessories and it covers the lifetime of the phone its well worth it. There are other rates of insurance that are less than the $4.99 but you don't get the full coverage. If the phone is lost or stolen and you have a police report you wont have to pay the deductible but if you damage it you will just have to pay a $50 deductible. I have only had to do a couple insurance claims but its saved me a few hundred dollars from buying brand new phones and accessories!

I get very confused when people say free after rebate. I don't know if they used their new every 2 or if they are a new customer or bought it retail. So if someone could explain how they go the phone free after rebate a little bit better i would appreciate it because it seems like people are doing it different ways unless i missed something.

CORRECT. Using the NE2 and the $50.00 mail in rebate. OK. I'll keep this short. This phone is unbelievable. I have been waiting since January (when my contract was up) for a replacement. I been watching and even considered switching carriers in order to find a phone. This phone has a loud ringer, and fantastic volume for listening and everything else most of us will want. RUN as fast as you can and don't look back to your local Circuit City store and try and get one NOW. If you wait and the word gets out, there won't be any left. LG may be in big trouble waiting for verizon to release the 8100. They better start on planning for the replacement for it. The 815 is going to blow them out of the water.

I went to Circuit City NYC Union Square right before closing on Friday to buy a v710 and later exchange it for an e815. Right before he began to put everything into the computer, I asked him about the e815. He told me that they would begin selling it on Saturday morning.

i tried to convince him to sell me the e815 instead of the v710, but he said he wouldn't have a job in the morning if he did. I told him to forget about the v710, I'll be back in the morning for the e815.

It amazes me how different stores can sell these phones on different dates. I even have a actual Verizon Store/Service center that has already released the phone yesterday. I don't know what makes one place be able to do it and others not. I guess some places are just nicer than others.

What drives me crazy is how Verizon cant get their act together on all this to me its obvious all Verizon stores get their shipment on Thursday. There for thats when they get their phones and accessories. I was at a Verizon booth in a mall today and i was able to get a feel for what the phone is like but my friend said all he knew about is the dummy phone he had sitting right there on the counter that he let me see. He said Verizon is keeping this pretty hush hush for some unknown reason.

I went to the CC in Tustin, Ca and the guy said he wouldn't have them until next week. I looked over and I saw a box with them in it. I said they're right there. He said no and covered the box. 🙄

Anyone know where in the OC you can get the phone?

My local Circuit City store keeps everything in the back room with the rest of Circuit City's inventory and when i asked the manager if he had any in he said no he didn't and a rep said he had them in and the manager told the rep to grab one for me to test out. It was a real nice gesture. I think smaller Verizon locations like that CAN be a bit more friendlier than the bigger locations.

Well, apparently the employees are all mixed up. I called CC yesterday where I live in Long Island, NY to ask when the phone was coming out, they told me the 5th. I called again today to confirm the retail price of $299.99 and found out the phone went on sale today! They also said the verizon stores would have it today as well. So i rushed myself over there and bought it, I had to wait 20 minutes because they were having a problem activating the phone. It's GREAT, I would definately tell you all to get it. And from what I see you can talk with the speakerphone on! 🙂

I don't know where all you guys are getting all this information, I have been to three local Verizon stores, one store said that they don't reveal to their salespeople the "launch" date, one store had no idea when the phone was coming out and one store had to look up on the website to find info on the E815 because he wasn't familiar with the phone. Are all you guys saying that the phone is basically ready to be put out on shelves and I just happened to pick three stores that had no clue what was going on? This is my last week before my two weeks are up on my V710 and would be interested in swapping to the E815 just because it is the latest and greatest.
