I have a VX6000 and want to go to V710 or wait till E815 comes out

I currently have a VX6000 which has already been replaced so its on its last legs. I have 2 years that expire in August. Through my job I can get the v710 for 70 dollars now but if I do I won't have the every 2 but its cheap for $70 dollars. If I wait till August I am sure the V710 will be discontinued and the E815 will be out . Based on the tech info here there is not much of difference except for Ev-do which I doubt I use and maybe a different battery. What should I do get the v710 for the low price or wait till my every 2 is over and get the e815. All I want is bluetooth but since verizon is limited to this phone for now (till 8100) comes out.

That is a good price for the v710, but I wouldnt do it. To me.. the v710 is an ugly phone just on looks alone. I think the e815 is a much better looking phone. Will you get it for 70bucks (hell no) but if you are willing to pay more I would wait. Have you seen the keypad on the v710. (ugly) i think. So I guess in short if you dont mind the keypad and forget all the haters about the bluetooth (obex exchange)and want a good phone with great reception and dont mind just having access to only the bluetooth headset, for 70 bucks its a great phone with a very nice screen. Enjoy

Well from what I can see on this site the e815 and the v710 look almost the same except the keypad and the color. I do the keys are staggered on the v710 and are more lined up in the e815. Regarding bluetooth I was going to use it for the headset since I am tired of the loops and wires of the regular headsets. I even tried the jabra with the adapter for bluetooth and that was a pain because you have to plug everything in and my phone didn't support answer and end. I see alot of people using the transflash to play mp3's and I am sure I will not care after a month or so about mp3's since I have an ipod. Ring tones are nice but how often do you change them? From what this site says the e815 will have the same issue with bluetooth so it won...

right on 🙂 looks like you got your own question answered then. I still think they look quite a bite different.

you can see them side by side on the above link. Plus the e815 has 40 mb of memory.

Good luck with whatever you choose 🙂

Yeah I guess I did answer my own questions but I was looking for people with the same ? Upgrade or don't, save money or not. We can't keep up with technology so even if I get an e815 next year for sure something else will be out . Thanx for the info but if there is anybody out there that had a vx6000 or 7000 and when to the V710 please let me know.

I have the 710 and I love it. Yes, it does suffer the from some software issues, limitations on syncing up with other bluetooth devices, and battery life is rough. (You can now take it to services centers and they'll do free software updates to stop the freeze ups.) Reception is awesome. Here's what I'd do: wait...wait for the 8100 to come out. It has everything the 710 and 815 does. I think it will be what we expected the 710 to be, except the EVDO.

But the 8100 has a smaller screen . I really like the screen of the v710. the vx6000 I like the screen its just it has been replaced already and has a crack in it. The vx7000 and vx8000 are bigger units in my opinion and have bigger screens but no bluetooth.

huh? 😕 The vx-8000, vx-8100, vx-7000, v710, and e815 ALL have the same size main LCD screen.

I guess you are right. The size of the unit (vx8100 ) looks smaller but I guess the screen looks the same. I think I will probably get the v710 for the free price I get it for its worth it. If the e815 comes out I can always sell the v710 on ebay and get that one.

Thanks

Ive had the 6000, 7000, v710 and now the 8000 (i was a tester for it) and the 710 was the worst phone ive ever had, It was bug written. hopefully they fix this with the 815 which I might get when its relesed depending. If I were you, Id wait for the 815 rather than going the 710 route.

Unless, of course, having a trimode phone is important to you.

Well since the original post I found out that I can't get a new phone till jun 13th so hopefully by that time the E815 comes out. I really cannot wait for the lg8100 since it probably won't be till late summer till it comes out based on several posts here. I get discounts from my job that has a b2b with Verizon and I can get the phone cheaper when it comes out plus my $100 for the every 2. I got the vx6000 new and I loved it at first but now I loose connections and this was already replaced. My first phone was a motorola Starec the big ones then went to the v60 then to the vx6000. So I won't be getting the v710 at all since by June I am sure the e815.
