When you say "US version" do you mean ugly with poor features? 🤣

It is tri-band 900/1800/1900MHz, so works in the US on Cingular and T-mobile on 1900. Buy it from an independent store which imports the good stuff like this, or ebay.

My buddies here on phonescoop helped me with any other questions.

So why can't we get the good stuff in America? Are they hording the technology, or are the US carriers simply not willing to invest in these higher priced but better phones? I have the D415, and I love everything except for the non-megapixel camera, no speakerphone, and the mics are so sensitive, talkin in the car is annoying.

The US GSM market is pretty small in a global way, and we have different frequency allocation to the rest of the world (1900 and a little 850, vs 900/1800), so only phones made for travel to the US will we get to see. Shame. Long story short, most of the nice phones just don't work here. And although US CDMA has great coverage here, the phones are very dull (another price related story). Pretty much stuck between a hard place and a rock. There's a big world out there... it will be nice to join in one day.
