I beleive that the US version of this phone is the Samsung P777. Judging by the press release and other sources. Check out the press release. There is a section that talks about the D500 and P777.

This isn't the d500's brother, no bluetooth, only 40 chord polyphonic ringtones, no speakerphone, and it's not even the same form factor, this p777 is a clmashell the 500 is a slider.It's more like an improved version of the V205, but hardly comparable to the D500
