I just bought the 8940, but i cannot find a usb cable that is compatible with it so i can transfer mp3s from my pc to the phone, if anyone knows of a usb cable that is available that will work with this phone, please let me know what the make is of it and where you got it. Thanks a lot.

If you're strictly wanting to transfer MP3's to listen to, you really should get a mini SD card. You transfer your songs from the computer to the card, then put the card in your phone, and there you go.
Currently they haven't released a data cable specifically for the 8940; however, some people have said that the cable for the 8900 works fine. You can find it at radio shack, or almost anywhere on the web. With the cable, you'll be able to transfer pix, flix, and manipulate the phone to your liking using either Bitpim or QPST.
I'm personally waiting for the OEM data cable to be safe.

dude read the threads on trouble down loading mp3's, it'll help when you run into trouble, notice i said "when" not a question of if, 🤣 unless you get it on the first try.. just remember every time you pull the card out of the phone, and put it back in , you have to goto the settings for sd and select "transfer to new phone" otherwise you'll think you lost all your mp3's on the card. peace.

As far as i know the only card that comes in the phone is a dummy card. It's just a piece of plastic 😲

If you live in nyc, I had to ride into manhattan because no one else had it, goto J&R computer world by city hall. The cable you need is actually the card reader, it plugs into your usb, which goes for about 20 bucks. The 256 mb card i got was $45 and they had one in the computer 512 mb for 60 but it wasn't there. I would suggest getting the 512 if you see it.
