Hey guys, click on the fcc link for this phone and then click on details and then external photos, the last picture is of a stereo headset, could this mean that this phone has an mp3 player?!?!

The current software does not have an MP3 player on it. Even if it did, you would not like it much. MP3 players on phones have not worked out well. They are VERY limited in their features, uses up the battery FAST, which means your phone is dead when you need it for a call, have very limited storage, and the sound is less than you would desire. 😡

You are much better off with some of the new ultra small MP3 players that are out that have great features, lots of memory and LAST a long time! 🙂

No not really, just realistic about features on ANY phone. True, I love the 9900 and think it is the best phone they have, especially considering the price, but I am also looking for another phone that is as good or better.

The 9900 was a very HOT phone and is not out of stock with Verizon and most likely they will not get more. ☚ī¸
Luckily I got mine while they had them in stock. 🙂

The 8940 should be a very good phone. With an SD card, it opens up a lot more that you can do with it and at the moment I like it. 🙄

But other than that, the feature set is not really any better than the 9900 and the ...

Oops! 🤭 Forgot to mention the main drawback to the 8940, it is NOT Tri-mode!! ☚ī¸ And that is an important feature! Regardless of how many cool features ANY phone has, the main feature I want is to be able to use it as a PHONE!! 😛

Tri-mode means you can get and make calls in areas that dual mode phones can't! Oh well, you are right, I love the 9900! 😁

Well, you are def. right about the screen on the 9900. As for the Tri-Mode thing, I could care less. Honestly I have traveled all over Florida and up and down the east coast a fair amount and have never gone into analog mode. Unless, I forced my phone into it, just to check it out.

1. The static is almost unbearable esp. for the other person your calling.

2. The battery drain is like 3x's faster.

Other than that I WOULD and DO tell customers to get a tri-mode phone if they travel out west or in certain aras of FL. So don't get me wrong it's ok... But not needed for some customers that might be looking at a digital only phone because they like it's features or style.

True dat. Heck, you can even get a flash memory-based iPod for $99 now (well, in a couple of weeks anyway). So why do you need a fairly crappy mp3 player in your phone?

I agree. With the included stereo headset and the play button on the front of the phone, one would think it would be capable of playing MP3's, just like the 8000. With the mini SD card, this phone is FAR better than the 8000. Why would anyone want a larger, uglier phone with less features? Sure it's $25 more, but it's definitely worth it.
I can't wait for this phone!!
I just hope the camera is pretty good. Anyone found any photos taken from it?

Yes, this phone does look better than the 8000, but i would get the 8000 because LG's are very reliable and last way longer than Audiovox...i guess it's personal preference...
