Which MMC Card?

DocB2

I am preparing to purchase the 6256i and have a couple of questions for those who already have one. Does this take a regular MMC card or the reduced-size/mobile MMC? (I assume that it is one of the latter.) Need it be a dual-voltage card? Can you use a card larger than 512mb? (I've read that somehow the phone limits the amount of data on the card to 600mb.)
Thanks for any help you can give.

While I have just noted the message from Lorna with the link to the Nokia site showing that their cards are dual voltage, does anyone know if this is an absolute requirement or will a single voltage reduced-size card work?

I have sent a question to Nokia at their website asking them what my options are for an MMC card. I will post the Nokia techie's reply when it arrives. I will title it, "Nokia Tech Tells Which MMC Card to Buy"

Thanks, Lorna. I checked HowardForums only after ordering a 512mb, dual-voltage mmc mobile (same as reduced-size) card. A post there mentions that even a full-size single-voltage MMC card works. I will be anxious to hear what the "official" Nokia line is. (I suspect they will recommend the dual voltage smaller card as that is what they sell on their site. It is posible that the single voltage card does work but uses more power than the dual-voltage.)

As you can see in my post here in this forum, I went to the Nokia Experience Center today and bought/ordered the Nokia 6256i. The gal there told me that a memory card is included in the box. I presume it will be the lesser memory card which ...

Please let me know how you are experiencing your phone. I am so excited. One thing that bothered me was that they had the 6255i there as a model, not the 6256i, and the 55i did not show a lot of backlighting/illumination as another Nokia phone did. Does yours light up well? I hope so, because I don't want to be fumbling around if I make a call in the car after the sun goes down. The sales rep there assured me that the 6256i DOES have bright backlighting, and I believe her but still, it helps when you SEE it in person.

As a 6256i owner, I can tell you that the backlighting is definitely very bright. 🙂
