Nokia 6255i / 6256i
When will Nokia 6255i BE OUT??
Sorry for the bad news - don't buy one on ebay - Verizon will not activate it.

It's a great phone - the Verizon version is the 6256i - and it will outperform everything Verizon has at this time, especially with the Motorola V710 lawsuit. The phone worth waiting for. Good luck............
sure, it looks great on paper, and it probably WILL be awesome. But you don't know for sure and shouldn't tell people that it's definitely 'the phone worth waiting' for. you never know what might go wrong... 😕
Predictably, the guy behind the counter at first didn't know what I was talking about, but he did look it up in the database for me. Apparently its due in in most (but not all) Best Buy stores on 10/23. The price was $249 retail. He said there was no upgrade/2 yr contract price given yet, but that $149 was a good guess.
Hope he's right. I'm finally on my last nerve waiting for this phone. If its not here by the end of October, that will be IT for me... Samsung 850, here I come. Buh-bye Nokia. 😛

Midwest wireless has been selling this phone for about 4 months. It's great. Kinda quirky (as you can tell from the above posts) but works where other phones wont. These phones are easy to sell and don't get returned very often.
My bad... we were actually talking about the 6256i, which is the Verizon version, which isn't out yet.
The 6255, as you say, has been out for awhile.
The above posts don't really qualify or quantify "issues" and "quirkiness".

THAT IS WHAT I'm talking about.
I saw this phone in action at a Nokia demonstration. The phone is AWESWOME!
They actually start production on them next week. They said that HOPEFULLY US Cellular will be able to get them the following week......mid November.
Oh well.
I would think that we'd have the phones in our hands by Thanksgiving. Of course, we could be wrong.....again.
Of course, in the past these people have been horribly unreliable (Verizon's sales people in their stores seem to be a universally uninformed lot).
The good news is that today when I asked them about the Nokia 6256 they had at least actually "heard" of the phone & are claiming it will be here... Some progress anyways.
Anyways, I have Verizon & will prolly be getting this phone when it comes out, or maybe just wait until Motorola's CDMA version of the RAZR V3 finally makes it to Verizon... Dunno yet.
Hope that helps,
