Doesn't seem to be a fake... typing in cache.vzw.com redirects to the VZW website, and of course, cache.vzw.com is a subdomain of vzw.com. Perhaps the Verizon variant of the 6255 is slightly different? The model number is 6256i, after all.

What I'm wondering is when its coming out for Verizon. I hear the new LG 5200 is coming out August 15th, will this coincide as part of some sort of mass 'new phone' rollout for VZW? 😕

Its not a fake. If you go to the support section of the Veizon website, you can get to it by going to sitem...

The user manual to the LG 5200 is online and has been online a couple days already. They gave the phone a worse screen compared to the 6100 and gave it that stupid Verizon UI.

No video and bluetooth? It certainly is being nuetered. You would think at this point they would give it a number that isn't so suggestive of the 6255i, it is so different.

On the other hand, I still want it for its compact size, performance and hopefully typical Nokia build quality. Hope the price is in line with its small feature set.

Good on the silver at least. Not crazy about the blue, especially the way it is only part of the front.

All silver? Funny... that's not what it looks like in the VZW online manual. And that phone even has the Verizon logo on it too.

Meh... looks okay. The two-tone looks better.

That is incorrect. If you add the dummy phone to your "shopping cart" and go to checkout, there is a drop-down option to change the phone to "Verizon Blue". So, the phone will be as pictured in the online manual: blue and silver colored.

Yeah, you're right, I didn't go that far. Somewhere else I remember reading that it would come through in silver.

Personally, I don't think it is great looking, but it is not offensive like a lot of phones are. That shade of blue seems a little overdone these days, there are a lot of phones using it (whereas silver and black are kind of nuetral and timeless). Also, the part blue, part silver face looks kind of chopped up to me.

I wish it look...

Thank goodness. The silver wasn't bad really, but the two-tone is much better. 🙂

Then why would the online user guide the OP linked to show how to pair with a headset. It will certainly be crippled (OBEX, etc) as all Verizon Bluetooth is, but you will have wireless headst capability.

The 6256i from Verizon will be $49.99 with a 2 year deal and $149 if you buy it outright. It will come in the silver/grey color and removed in the 6256i will be the MP3 Player, MMC, Video Recorder, Bt file transfer(Crippled Bt with a headset will be all it supports), and games have been removed to make space for Get it Now features. You would do much better to buy a 6255i unlocked and get it working on the Verizon network as the 6256i is not worth the time or money. Being a stripped down 6255i they removed all of the good things the 6255i had going for it and left it a plain jane Nokia filp with few features.

VZW's market power absolutely baffles me. Nokia won't even sell the 6256 on its own website! Makes me want to cancel my contract and go with a new carrier!
