yes. after you activate the camera, one of the options is to use the mini display. you can also press the outside camera button with the flip closed and take a pic. downside is you have to open the phone to reset it to take another picture.

How can you take a shot with the flip closed? I know the button is the 'record/camera' button but any time it is pressed it just records a memo. 😕
