it's been about 10 days since the release of this phone model at Midwest Wireless and I am already on my 3rd handset. The first one dropped several calls, reception cut in and out, battery over heated, and then powered off by itself, wont power back on and will not charge. The 2nd did the same thing minus the overheating. I dont beleive these phones were tested to the fullest extent. im on my third one now and whats sad is that i actually like this phone, even through all the dissapointment. the only thing i can think of that i havent done to this phone is program the NAM 2 menus. I dont think this phone will tolerate 2 numbers. Also, using a bluetooth headset, if you try to use the voice dial, it automatically routes audio through the louds...

I have had my 6255 from Midwest Wireless for 1 week now and I couldn't be happier. I have had no issues like the ones you stated in the previous post.

My only have 2 complaints:

The BREW catalog is minimal and poor.

Closing the flip does not return the phone to the main screen when reopening. I.E. if I create and send a message and close the flip when it states the message was sent, when I open the flip again it opens to my sent items menu instead of default screen. Calls are ended by closing the flip no problem.

The latter issue is a major oversight on Nokia's part, most likely because they forgot how flip phones work.

I LIKE that closing the flip doesn't reset to the home screen. 😛

I can see that being very nice to have for some people. It would be nice if it was a choosable option.

After receiving my MMC card and using the music player I can see why closing the flip doesn't bring it back to the default screen. I can keep the phone in my pocket with the flip closed while still listening to the music player. Maxrebo is right, it would be nice if it were an option.

I thought this was a constructive place to talk about cellular technology, not a 4th grade school bus trip. Constructive comments are appreciated...

The reason BREW has minimal software is because it is a new phone. Developers have to make their software compatable with that phone first. Just wait a while (maybe a month or two) and more will come. My Motorola C343 I had the first it came out and it was the same situation and a fair ammount of software came out later for it.

well, im starting to come around now, the one i have now (the third one) is working out very nicely. the only thing that i havent done to this one is program Nam 2 whcih leads me to believe that that was the issue to my frying phones. but i do agree on the not closing out the menu on a close of the flip, it is kind of annoying but not a big deal. maybe if it were a setting you could change it would be better. still having trouble with blue tooth headset routing audio to loudsepaker when using voice commands though. oh yeah, the brew selection sucks i admit and the minibrowser is unavailable. the reason for this was because we rushed the phone and it came in like 6 weeks early. brew will be updated... extensively at least for midwest wireless...

On many phones NAM2 isn't programmed with PRL and SID/NID settings ... this may affect your reception. CDMA phones can have NAM1/2 programmed seperately as far as that information goes.
