Hi people. I intend to buy a T630 but I am concerned with the T9 feature.

I would like to know if is it possible to change the T9 language.

If so, where can I find language files to upload and how can it be done.

Thanks a lot.

Regards,
Paulo

from home screen, joystick "in" for main menu. select Messages. select "Text". select "Write New". soft-select right for "More". select "Input Language" and select your desired language. soft-select right for "More". select "Input Method" and selct "T9".

that's the step order for changing the language. flashed choices (for U.S. Cingular T637) are: English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.

if another language is required, look under Support on SonyEricsson's website and use the contact us options.

Tegic lists many languages as being available:
http://www.tegic.com/languages.html »

but these may only be available through SE according to this:

It is very easy to change the T9 language. If the phone was bought in the U.S. than the language options are:

1. English
2. Spanish (Latin America)
3. French (Canada)
4. Portuguese

Just go into the menu and choose the Settings icon and then choose language and then select the language you want. After this is done T9 will automatically work in the language chosen. If you want a language that is not already installed on the phone you must to a flashing of the phone and possible replace some of the hardware but doing this will void the warranty.

Well.. I realy don´t know were it was bought but it doesn´t have Portuguese under its options. I would like to know if there is a way to upload Portuguese T9 language to the phone.

Thanks a lot, Paulo.
